Benastatin C is isolated from the culture broth of Streptomyces sp. MI384-DF12 as an inhibitor of glutathione S-transferase (GST).1
It shows considerable activities (IC50: 0.16 µg/mL) against human pi class GST (GSTπ).1 Benactatin C has inhibitory activity against esterase obtained from hog pancreas lipase (IC50: 10.0 µg/mL) and has excellent stimulatory activities on the murine lymphocyte blastogenesis.
