Description:
Potato Dextrose Agar is a nutrient-rich microbiological medium with mildly acidiic PH. With the addition of antibiotics, such as streptomycin, and penicillin g, potato dextrose agar bacteria can be suprressed and allow fungal growth. Potato dextrose agar is used to study colony morphology, measure biomass production, and maintain stock cultures. The addition of antibiotics hinder bacterial protein synthesis and other vital processes preventing bacterial colonies form forming and allowing fungi to grow.

*All agar plates are manufactured with ultrapure water, deionized and demineralized to minimize ionic and organic contaminants. The premium ISO certified agar solution is sterilized by a full cycle of autoclaving. Each 100mm plate has 20mL of agar medium in premium plastic dish.
