World’s cleanest buffer for all cell and molecular biology experiments
Triton X-100 is added to Dulbecco's Phosphate Buffered Saline (DPBS) primarily to enhance the permeability of cell membranes and facilitate the delivery of molecules that would otherwise have difficulty entering cells or tissues. Dulbecco's Phosphate Buffered Saline is a commonly used buffer solution in biological research. It's designed to maintain a constant pH and is isotonic to cells, making it ideal for cell culture and various experimental procedures. The addition of Triton X-100 can help solubilize membrane proteins and permeabilize cell membranes. Triton X-100 acts as a non-ionic detergent that can create pores in cell membranes, allowing for the entry of molecules that are typically cell-impermeant
Applications:
-
Cell Culture Maintenance: DPBS provides essential inorganic ions and maintains the pH and osmotic balance necessary for cell viability. It is often used to wash cells during the dissociation process and to transport, irrigate, and dilute fluids in cell culture environments.
-
Protein Extraction: Triton X-100, a non-ionic surfactant, is added to DPBS to lyse cells and solubilize membrane proteins. This is crucial for preparing cell lysates for protein analysis and other biochemical assays.
-
Chromatographic Procedures: DPBS with Triton X-100 is used in various chromatographic techniques to maintain protein solubility and prevent aggregation during purification processes
Advantages:
-
DPBS provides essential inorganic ions and helps maintain the osmotic balance necessary for cell viability during various experimental procedures.
-
The washing and permeabilization properties of this buffer can help reduce background noise in various assays, particularly in immunostaining protocols.
-
The permeabilization effect of Triton X-100 can be used to enhance the delivery of optical contrast agents and antibodies into cells for imaging and labeling purposes.

All DiagnoCine Precision Sterile buffers are filtered-sterilized with a 0.1-micron filtration two times and 0.04-micron filtration one time. Thus, mycoplasma contamination is prevented. The smallest size mycoplasma type can be about 0.2 microns.
* This product is manufactured under ISO 13485-certified and CE-approved facilities (Suppliers of DiagnoCine Precision).
