Stereotaxic for Rat and Mouse, Dual M, Portable. (Basic module)
Cat No.: RWD-68810
The 68810 Portable Rat and Mouse Stereotaxic Instrument (Dual M) is a next-generation stereotaxic platform engineered for flexible, high-precision neuroscience research in both rats and mice. Unlike traditional U-frame systems, this portable model features an open, frameless design that maximizes workspace and accessibility, facilitating complex surgical procedures and advanced experimental setups. The dual manipulator configuration allows for simultaneous bilateral interventions or comparative studies, while removable adaptors and ear bars ensure compatibility with rodents of varying sizes and weights
Features:
-
Open, Frameless Architecture:
Replaces the conventional U-shaped frame with a larger, unobstructed operation area (400mm × 255mm base), improving access for instruments, imaging, and ergonomics in the lab. -
Dual Manipulator System:
Includes both left and right 3-axis manipulators, enabling bilateral brain targeting, concurrent injections, or simultaneous recording and stimulation for advanced neuroscience protocols. -
Universal Rodent Compatibility:
Removable and interchangeable adaptors and ear bars support both rats and mice, with adjustable heights (adaptor: 0–55mm; ear bars: 0–45mm) for precise skull leveling and secure fixation across a wide range of animal sizes. -
High-Resolution Positioning:
Non-digital models provide 100μm (0.1mm) accuracy, while digital display models (available separately) achieve 10μm precision—supporting the most demanding research needs in stereotaxic surgery and brain mapping. -
Advanced Mechanical Stability:
Dual-lead screw design ensures smooth, stable, and backlash-free manipulation, maintaining accuracy even during prolonged or delicate procedures. -
User-Centric Features:
Features a unique anti-clockwise UP mark to prevent incorrect operation, a curved nose clamp for secure animal fixation, and laser-engraved scales for easy, strain-free readings. -
Flexible Adjustments:
Ear bar slots with vernier scale (0.1mm resolution) and 35mm scale range (1mm increments) allow for reproducible and precise adjustments. The dorsal/ventral adaptor range is 30mm (+10mm to –20mm) with 0.1mm resolution. -
Temperature and Workflow Optimization:
Maintains accuracy and flexibility across variable temperatures; vertical lock and fixing knobs are separated for stable positioning at any angle. -
Accessory Compatibility:
Supports a wide range of optional accessories, including specific adaptors for mouse (68087) and rat (68088), ear bars, probe/cannula holders, syringe holders, and microdrill holders for tailored experimental setups.
