Quantification
In this sandwich ELISA, Human glycoprotein 130,gp130 ELISA KIT in the sample is captured between a pre-coated capture antibody and a detection antibody. Signal intensity is proportional to analyte concentration. Quantification uses a standard curve fitted with Curve Expert software, covering 0.24 ng/ml-15 ng/ml with a minimum detectable dose of 0.06 ng/ml.
This ELISA kit provides quantitative measurement of soluble gp130 (sgp130) in human samples, supporting research into cytokine signal transduction through the IL-6/JAK-STAT pathway. Because sgp130 functions as a natural inhibitor of IL-6 trans-signaling — a mechanism implicated in chronic inflammation and autoimmunity — precise quantification across both circulating and secreted fractions is essential for dissecting this regulatory axis.
Detection Range: The 0.24–15 ng/ml range aligns with reported circulating sgp130 concentrations in human serum and plasma, which typically fall between 100–400 ng/ml, meaning most serum samples will require dilution. Conditioned media from stimulated cells, where sgp130 shedding may be lower, can often be measured directly within this range.

- In the present study, we analyze the role of a unique cysteine residue (Cys-628) within this C-terminus, which is contained neither in the membrane-bound gp130 nor in the two other sgp130 forms. PMID: 26809098
- we developed a CRISPR-Cas9-based tool for specific DNA methylation consisting of deactivated Cas9 (dCas9) nuclease and catalytic domain of the DNA methyltransferase DNMT3A targeted by co-expression of a guide RNA to any 20 bp DNA sequence followed by the NGG trinucleotide.we demonstrated that directed DNA methylation of a wider promoter region of the target loci IL6ST and BACH2 decreased their expression PMID: 26969735
- Intracellular p19 associated with the cytokine receptor subunit gp130 and stimulated the gp130-dependent activation of signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3) signaling PMID: 26980441
- This functional mouse model of PMM2-CDG, in vitro assays and identification of the novel gp130 biomarker all shed light on the human disease, and moreover, provide the essential tools to test potential therapeutics for this untreatable disease. PMID: 27053713

- Data show that tumor suppressor adenomatous polyposis coli (APC) loss results in up-regulation of IL-6 signal transducer (IL-6ST/gp130), thereby activating YAP (YY1-associated) protein (YAP) which are simultaneously up-regulated in the majority of colorectal cancer (CRC). PMID: 28130546

- Low levels of serum sgp130 were positively associated with sex hormones in male patients with coronary artery disease, suggesting an important role of sgp130 in the presence of low and imbalanced sex hormones levels. PMID: 29028483
- Decreased serum LIF levels may be associated with vasculopathy in systemic sclerosis (SSc) and that Fli1 deficiency may contribute to the inhibition of LIF-dependent biological effects on SSc endothelial cells by suppressing the expression of LIF, LIF receptor, and gp130. PMID: 29038846
