Why FluxMPS™

Engineered where standard media fails

Conventional 0.22 µm filtered media allows mycoplasma (0.2–0.3 µm), sub-visible particulates, and microaggregates to pass freely — clogging microchannels, corrupting biosensors, and confounding metabolic assays.[1,2] FluxMPS™ closes that gap with a validated four-stage filtration train.

filter_alt

Microchannel-safe purity

A 0.04 µm final filter and USP <788> Method 1 particulate compliance support unobstructed flow in narrow microfluidic channels and long-duration perfusion.

Purity Architecture

Quadruple-stage filtration system

This lot is manufactured to a validated four-stage sequential filtration train reaching a final pore size of 0.04 µm — a repeated pre-filter and final-filter pair, run twice for full redundancy.

  1. 1

    0.1 µm Prefiltration I

Removes large particulates, cell debris, and protein aggregates. Protects the first 0.04 µm cartridge downstream.

  2. 2

    0.04 µm Final filtration I

First 0.04 µm pass; retains sub-micron particulates and microaggregates that pass a 0.22 µm filter.

  3. 3

    0.1 µm Prefiltration II

A second, dedicated prefilter protecting the second 0.04 µm cartridge in the train.

  4. 4

0.04 µm Final filtration II — Polish

Ultimate polishing filter; aseptic fill and finish in a validated ISO Class 5 (Class 100) laminar-flow workstation.

Filtration architecture

The train is run as two dedicated prefilter-plus-final-filter pairs in series, giving full redundancy at the 0.04 µm final cut-off rather than a single descending cascade.

Sterility & Mycoplasma: 14-day USP <71> sterility tested per lot. Mycoplasma control is achieved by 0.1 µm mycoplasma-retentive filtration (not tested per lot); mycoplasma range from approximately 0.2–0.3 µm in diameter, well above the 0.04 µm final cut-off.
Grade: This product is Microfluidics Suitable, filtered to a 0.04 µm final cut-off. It is not an MPS Grade product — that designation is reserved for the 0.01 µm ultra nano-filtered line, which adds 0.02 µm and 0.01 µm stages after the 0.04 µm polish. For applications requiring the 0.01 µm cut-off, contact support@diagnocine.com.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about FluxMPS™ Leibovitz's L-15 Medium w/o Sodium Pyruvate, Phenol Red: 1X Liquid (DCP-LL15-PR1X).

Yes. DCP-LL15-PR1X is manufactured to a quadruple-stage filtration train reaching a 0.04 µm final cut-off, with an endotoxin release specification of < 0.05 EU/mL, supporting use in organ-on-a-chip, microfluidic, and MPS platforms where microchannel clogging and bioburden are concerns.
Four sequential passes (0.1 µm → 0.04 µm → 0.1 µm → 0.04 µm) reach a 0.04 µm final cut-off and provide 0.1 µm mycoplasma-retentive filtration, well below the 0.22 µm cut-off of conventional filtered media, and are verified by USP <788> Method 1 (light obscuration) particulate compliance.
This formulation uses galactose (0.9 g/L) as the defined carbon source rather than glucose, and omits sodium pyruvate and phenol red to give a precisely defined, optically clear, microchannel-safe starting medium free of pH-indicator interference in imaging or biosensor assays. L-Glutamine (300 mg/L) is already included. Sodium pyruvate can be added back for cell types with a pyruvate requirement; contact support@diagnocine.com for custom pH, nutrient, or buffer adjustments.
No. DCP-LL15-PR1X does not contain sodium bicarbonate and is formulated to be CO2-independent, consistent with the classic Leibovitz's L-15 design. Optional HEPES supplementation can be added on request for applications requiring additional pH buffering outside a controlled atmosphere.
Yes. DCP-LL15-PR1X is a basal medium compatible with FBS (2–10%), human serum, growth factors (EGF, FGF, VEGF), and antibiotics. Pre-filter serum- or protein-containing additions through a 0.2 µm low-protein-binding PES or PVDF filter before combining; do not use a 0.04 µm filter for serum or protein additions, as it will remove serum lipoproteins and adsorb low-abundance growth factors.
Every manufacturing batch is tested by LAL assay (USP <85> Bacterial Endotoxins Test; assay sensitivity 0.005 EU/mL) and must meet the release specification of < 0.05 EU/mL before distribution. The lot-specific result is reported on the Certificate of Analysis; request one at support@diagnocine.com.
Yes — a full CoA per lot includes: lot number, expiry, appearance, pH (USP <791>), osmolality (USP <785>), endotoxin (USP <85>), sterility (USP <71>), particulate count (USP <788> Method 1), and cultural response. Email support@diagnocine.com.
