Engineered where standard media fails
Conventional DMEM is sterile-filtered once at 0.22 µm. That pore size can pass mycoplasma and leaves subvisible particulates that settle in microchannels, foul membranes and hydrogels, and add noise to optical readouts.[11,12] FluxMPS™ DMEM keeps Dulbecco's formulation and removes that failure mode.
Microchannel-safe purity
A 0.04 µm final filter and USP <788> particulate control keep subvisible debris out of chips, tubing, membranes and matrices.
Total metabolic control
Defined 6,302 mg/L D-glucose, no L-glutamine and 220 mg/L sodium pyruvate in the 2X (half that at 1X).
Ultrapure-grade water
Made with Ultrapure Type 1 water (18.2 MΩ·cm) and released at < 0.05 EU/mL endotoxin by USP <85>.
Low background for imaging
Particle-depleted medium reduces scatter and debris artifacts in colony counting, confocal imaging and on-chip sensing, and the Phenol Red-free formulation removes color background.
Rich DMEM/F-12 nutrient base
56 components at double strength, including vitamin B12, linoleic acid, lipoic acid, putrescine, hypoxanthine and thymidine from Ham's F-12.
Customization on demand
pH, glucose, HEPES, salts, and nutrient composition on request — contact support@diagnocine.com.
Quadruple-stage filtration system
Every lot of DCP-DM12-QBR2X is membrane filtered at 0.1 µm twice and 0.04 µm twice — a ready-to-dilute 2X DMEM polished to a 0.04 µm final pore size, a purity level single-pass 0.22 µm media cannot reach.

Performance vs. conventional media

Where FluxMPS™ DMEM fits
DMEM/F-12 (1:1) With Trace Elements combines Dulbecco’s Modified Eagle Medium and Ham’s F-12 Nutrient Mixture in an equal ratio.[1,2,3] It provides amino acids, vitamins, salts, glucose, and trace elements to support a broad range of mammalian cells in laboratory culture.
This nutrient-rich formulation is commonly used for in vitro epithelial, primary-cell, stem-cell, organoid, and other research cell-culture applications. It is also suitable for developing serum-reduced or defined research media when used with appropriate supplements.[4,5]
DMEM/F-12 (1:1) 2X With Trace Elements is a double-strength formulation designed to be diluted to 1X or combined with an equal volume of another compatible solution. The 2X format helps maintain the intended final 1X concentrations of basal nutrients and trace elements when adding large volumes of supplements, treatment solutions, cell suspensions, hydrogels, or other matrices.
It is useful for:
- Development of defined or serum-reduced research media.
- In vitro epithelial and primary-cell research.
- Research-use stem-cell and organoid culture.
- Nutrient-response and cellular-metabolism studies.
- Laboratory-scale semisolid, hydrogel, and 3D cell culture.
- Research-use tissue-engineering and organ-on-a-chip studies.
- Customized media preparation with added growth factors or supplements.
- Experimental workflows requiring concentrated basal medium.
Automated Bioreactors & Robotics
For automated bioreactors, liquid-handling robots and closed perfusion loops with fine valves and in-line sensors, an optional 10 nm (0.01 µm) ultra-filtered grade of this medium is available.
- Total Particulate Exclusion: 0.01 µm filtration removes virtually all particulates down to the nanometer scale.
- Valve & Sensor Protection: keeps micro-valves, pumps and optical or electrochemical sensors free of deposits.
- Extended Perfusion Stability: supports long, uninterrupted perfusion runs with fewer line changes.
Inquiry Required: the 0.01 µm grade is made on request — email support@diagnocine.com with your catalog number and volume.
Defined & Serum-Reduced Media
A rich, defined DMEM/F-12 base for building serum-reduced and customized research media with growth factors and other supplements.[4]
Complete Trace-Element Package
Selenium, zinc, copper, iron, manganese and other trace elements are already in the formulation, supporting low-serum and defined culture without a separate trace-element supplement.[3,4]
Stem-Cell & Organoid Culture
DMEM/F-12 is a common basal medium for stem-cell and organoid protocols; the 2X format leaves room for growth-factor cocktails and matrices.[5]
Epithelial & Primary Cells
Supports epithelial and other primary cells in defined or low-serum culture after dilution to 1X.[3,4]
Organ-on-a-Chip & MPS
Microchannel-safe medium for perfused organ-, tissue- and body-on-a-chip platforms.[8,9,10]
Microscopy & Optical Sensing
Fewer particles means cleaner fields for colony counting, confocal imaging and on-chip biosensors; no Phenol Red background.
