Why FluxMPS™

Engineered where standard media fails

Conventional 0.22 µm-filtered media carry mycoplasma-sized particulates (0.2–0.3 µm), subvisible debris, and variable endotoxin loads that accumulate inside microchannels — corrupting biosensor readings and shortening device lifetimes. FluxMPS™ addresses these failure modes with a validated four-stage filtration train.

filter_alt

Microchannel-safe purity

0.04 µm final filter retains particles down to sub-mycoplasma size; USP <788> Method 1 particulate compliance verified per lot.

target

Total metabolic control

Precisely controlled glucose (3151 mg/L), L-glutamine (365 mg/L), and sodium pyruvate (110 mg/L) concentrations support reproducible metabolic flux experiments.

water_drop

Ultrapure-grade water

Prepared with Type 1 water (18.2 MΩ·cm), with trace-metal and organic-carbon (TOC) control minimizing background contamination.

Purity Architecture

Quadruple-stage filtration system

FluxMPS™ Dulbecco’s Modified Eagle Medium/ Ham’s F-12 Nutrient Mixture (DMEM/F-12) (1:1) with Trace Elements & 15mM HEPES w/o Phenol Red: 1X Liquid is processed through a four-stage serial filtration sequence reaching 0.04 µm — two dedicated prefilter + final-filter pairs run in series, addressing mycoplasma-sized and subvisible particulates that 0.22 µm filtration cannot remove.

  1. 1

    0.1 µm Prefiltration I

Removes large particulates, cell debris, and protein aggregates; protects the first 0.04 µm cartridge.

  2. 2

    0.04 µm Final filtration I

First 0.04 µm pass; retains sub-micron particulates and mycoplasma-sized material that pass a 0.22 µm filter.

  3. 3

    0.1 µm Prefiltration II

Second dedicated prefilter, protecting the second 0.04 µm cartridge from load carried over from Stage 2.

  4. 4

0.04 µm Final filtration II — Polish

Ultimate polishing filter; aseptic fill & finish in a validated ISO Class 5 laminar-flow workstation.

Performance vs. conventional media

Four sequential stages reaching 0.04 µm deliver approximately 5× cleaner media by particulate count compared to single-pass 0.22 µm filtration, with USP <788> Method 1 compliance verified on every lot.

Sterility assurance: Every batch undergoes 14-day USP <71> sterility testing. Mycoplasma risk is mitigated via 0.1 µm mycoplasma-retentive filtration (not tested per lot); mycoplasma organisms are typically 0.2–0.3 µm in diameter.
Grade: This product is Microfluidics Suitable, filtered to a 0.04 µm final cut-off. It is not an MPS Grade product — that designation is reserved for the 0.01 µm ultra nano-filtered line, which adds 0.02 µm and 0.01 µm stages after the 0.04 µm polish. For applications requiring the 0.01 µm cut-off, contact support@diagnocine.com.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about FluxMPS™ Dulbecco’s Modified Eagle Medium/ Ham’s F-12 Nutrient Mixture (DMEM/F-12) (1:1) with Trace Elements & 15mM HEPES w/o Phenol Red: 1X Liquid and Microfluidics Suitable cell culture media.

Yes. DCP-DM12H-R1X uses our Quadruple-stage filtration (0.1 µm ×2 + 0.04 µm ×2), delivering ultra-low particulate counts that help prevent microchannel clogging in OoC and MPS devices.
Standard 0.22 µm filtration leaves intact mycoplasma-sized (0.2–0.3 µm) and subvisible particulates that accumulate in microchannels. FluxMPS™ uses four sequential stages reaching 0.04 µm, delivering approximately 5× lower particulate counts per USP <788> Method 1.
Phenol red absorbs and fluoresces in ranges that can interfere with fluorescence, luminescence, and TEER-based assays. Removing it preserves optical clarity for confocal microscopy and biosensor integration. All other nutrient concentrations remain unchanged.
This formulation is HEPES-buffered with sodium bicarbonate. Standard 5% CO₂ incubation is compatible, and the added HEPES provides supplemental buffering for extended bench-top stability outside the incubator.
Yes. This medium can be supplemented with FBS (5–20%), growth factors, antibiotics, or other additives per standard practice. Sterile-filter serum-containing supplements through a 0.2 µm low-protein-binding PES or PVDF filter (never 0.04 µm, which retains IgM, lipoproteins, and much of the serum protein fraction) and add immediately before use.
Endotoxin is controlled per manufacturing batch, not per unit. Every batch is tested by LAL assay per USP <85> BET before release and must meet the specification < 0.05 EU/mL (assay sensitivity 0.005 EU/mL). Lot-specific results are in the CoA, available from support@diagnocine.com.
Yes. A lot-specific CoA is available for every shipment and includes: appearance, pH (USP <791>), osmolality (USP <785>), endotoxin (USP <85> BET), sterility (USP <71>), particulate matter (USP <788> Method 1), raw material traceability, manufacturing date, and authorized release signatures.
