Description:
All media used in tissue culture have a basis of a synthetic mixture of inorganic salts known as a physiological or balanced salt solution (BSS). Hank's Balanced Salt Solution (HBSS) with Phenol Red without Calcium Chloride, Magnesium Sulfate, and Sodium Bicarbonate is a specialized cell culture reagent designed for applications requiring controlled ionic balance in low-CO₂ or CO₂-free environments. This liquid formulation excludes components that could precipitate or interfere with specific experimental protocols while maintaining cellular osmotic balance. The absence of calcium and magnesium prevents unintended cell adhesion or enzymatic activation during sample processing.

- Cell washing prior to dissociation
- Transport medium for cell suspensions
- Diluent for enzyme solutions in CO₂-controlled environments
- Base solution for custom media formulations requiring calcium/magnesium-free conditions
