Why FluxMPS™

Engineered where standard media fails

Conventional 0.22 µm-filtered media carry mycoplasma-sized particulates (0.2–0.3 µm), subvisible debris, and variable endotoxin levels that accumulate inside microchannels — corrupting biosensor readings, triggering inflammation in primary cultures, and shortening device lifetimes. FluxMPS™ is engineered to address these failure modes at the source.

filter_alt

Microchannel-safe purity

0.04 µm final filter retains particles down to sub-mycoplasma size; USP <788> Method 1 (light obscuration) particulate compliance verified per lot.

Purity Architecture

Quadruple-stage filtration system

FluxMPS™ Dulbecco’s Modified Eagle Medium/ Ham’s F-12 Nutrient Mixture (DMEM/F-12) (1:1) with Trace Elements w/o Sodium Bicarbonate: 1X Liquid is processed through a four-stage serial filtration sequence reaching 0.04 µm — substantially reducing mycoplasma-sized particulates and subvisible particles that 0.22 µm filtration cannot address.

  1. 1

    0.1 µm Prefiltration I

Removes large particulates, cell debris, and protein aggregates; protects the first 0.04 µm cartridge downstream.

  2. 2

    0.04 µm Final filtration I

Retains sub-micron particulates and microaggregates, including mycoplasma-sized particles (0.2–0.3 µm), that pass a 0.22 µm filter.

  3. 3

    0.1 µm Prefiltration II

A second, dedicated prefilter protecting the second 0.04 µm cartridge and providing filtration-train redundancy.

  4. 4

0.04 µm Final filtration II — Polish

Ultimate polishing filter; aseptic fill & finish in an ISO Class 5 laminar-flow workstation.

Performance vs. conventional media

Four sequential stages reaching 0.04 µm deliver approximately 5× cleaner media by particulate count compared to single-pass 0.22 µm filtration, with USP <788> Method 1 compliance verified on every lot.

Sterility assurance: Every lot undergoes 14-day USP <71> sterility testing. Mycoplasma risk is controlled via 0.1 µm mycoplasma-retentive filtration (not tested per lot).
Grade: This product is Microfluidics Suitable, filtered to a 0.04 µm final cut-off. It is not an MPS Grade product — that designation is reserved for the 0.01 µm ultra nano-filtered line, which adds 0.02 µm and 0.01 µm stages after the 0.04 µm polish. FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about FluxMPS™ Dulbecco’s Modified Eagle Medium/ Ham’s F-12 Nutrient Mixture (DMEM/F-12) (1:1) with Trace Elements w/o Sodium Bicarbonate: 1X Liquid and Microfluidics Suitable cell culture media.

Yes. DCP-DM12-B1X is processed through Diagnocine’s Quadruple-stage filtration system (0.1 µm ×2 + 0.04 µm ×2), reaching a 0.04 µm final cut-off that delivers ultra-low particulate counts suited to microchannel geometries in OoC, ToC, and MPS devices.
Standard 0.22 µm filtration does not retain mycoplasma-sized particulates (0.2–0.3 µm) or subvisible debris that accumulate inside microchannels. FluxMPS™ runs four sequential stages reaching 0.04 µm, delivering approximately 5× cleaner media by particulate count per USP <788> Method 1.
This formulation omits sodium bicarbonate and HEPES so that buffering can be tailored to the intended culture system; glucose (3151 mg/L), L-glutamine (365 mg/L), and sodium pyruvate (110 mg/L) are already included as standard carbon and nitrogen sources. Contact support@diagnocine.com for a custom buffering system, or add HEPES/sodium bicarbonate directly before use.
No. This formulation contains no sodium bicarbonate, so CO₂ incubation is not required for pH buffering. For extended culture outside a CO₂-controlled environment, supplement with HEPES (10–25 mM) to maintain pH stability.
Yes. This formulation can be supplemented with FBS, growth factors, antibiotics, or other additives per standard practice. Pre-filter serum-containing supplements through a 0.2 µm low-protein-binding PES or PVDF membrane (never 0.04 µm, which retains IgM, lipoproteins, and other serum components) before adding to the base medium.
Endotoxin is controlled per manufacturing batch rather than per unit. Every batch is tested by LAL assay per USP <85> Bacterial Endotoxins Test (assay sensitivity 0.005 EU/mL) prior to release and must meet the release specification of < 0.05 EU/mL. Lot-specific results are documented on the Certificate of Analysis, available from support@diagnocine.com.
Yes. A lot-specific CoA is available for every shipment and includes: appearance, pH (USP <791>), osmolality (USP <785>), endotoxin (USP <85> BET), sterility (USP <71>), particulate matter (USP <788> Method 1), raw material traceability, manufacturing date, expiry, and authorized release signatures.
