FluxMPS™ Minimum Essential Medium (MEM), Low Glucose & 25mM HEPES w/o Sodium Pyruvate: 1X Liquid

Contains L-Glutamine Contains Sodium Bicarbonate Contains Phenol Red Contains HEPES Contains Calcium Contains Magnesium Contains Glucose Without Sodium Pyruvate

FluxMPS™ Minimum Essential Medium (MEM), Low Glucose & 25mM HEPES w/o Sodium Pyruvate: 1X Liquid is a Microfluidics Suitable, quadruple-stage ultra-filtered cell culture medium engineered for organ-on-a-chip (OoC), tissue-on-a-chip (ToC), and microphysiological system (MPS) applications. A quadruple-stage train (0.1 µm ×2 + 0.04 µm ×2) reaches a 0.04 µm final cut-off, five times finer than the 0.22 µm membranes used for conventional sterile filtration.

  • Quadruple-stage nano-filtration: 0.1 µm (Prefiltration I & II) + 0.04 µm (Final filtration I & II — Polish), reaching a 0.04 µm final cut-off
  • Endotoxin release specification: < 0.05 EU/mL (LAL, USP <85> BET), controlled per manufacturing batch
  • MEM base formulation, low glucose (1.0 g/L) with 25 mM HEPES buffering; formulated without sodium pyruvate

Why FluxMPS™

Engineered where standard media fails

Conventional 0.22 µm-filtered media carry mycoplasma-sized particulates (0.2–0.3 µm), subvisible debris, and inconsistent endotoxin control that accumulate inside microchannels — corrupting biosensor readings, triggering inflammation in primary cultures, and shortening device lifetimes. FluxMPS™ is built to address these failure modes at the source.

Purity Architecture

Quadruple-stage filtration system

FluxMPS™ Minimum Essential Medium (MEM), Low Glucose & 25mM HEPES w/o Sodium Pyruvate: 1X Liquid is processed through a four-stage filtration train — two dedicated prefilter + final-filter pairs reaching a 0.04 µm final cut-off — addressing particulate and mycoplasma-scale contamination that single-pass 0.22 µm filtration cannot.

  1. 1

    0.1 µm Prefiltration I

Removes large particulates, cell debris and protein aggregates; protects the first 0.04 µm cartridge.

  2. 2

    0.04 µm Final filtration I

First 0.04 µm pass; retains sub-micron particulates and microaggregates that pass a 0.22 µm filter.

  3. 3

    0.1 µm Prefiltration II

Second dedicated prefilter, protecting the second 0.04 µm cartridge and providing full redundancy.

  4. 4

0.04 µm Final filtration II — Polish

Ultimate polishing filter; aseptic fill in a validated ISO Class 5 laminar-flow workstation.

Performance vs. conventional media

Four sequential stages reaching 0.04 µm deliver approximately 5× cleaner media by particulate count compared to single-pass 0.22 µm filtration.

Grade: This product is Microfluidics Suitable, filtered to a 0.04 µm final cut-off. It is not an MPS Grade product — that designation is reserved for the 0.01 µm ultra nano-filtered line, which adds 0.02 µm and 0.01 µm stages after the 0.04 µm polish. FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about FluxMPS™ Minimum Essential Medium (MEM), Low Glucose & 25mM HEPES w/o Sodium Pyruvate: 1X Liquid and Microfluidics Suitable cell culture media.

Yes. DCP-MEMH-PN1X uses our Quadruple-stage filtration (0.1 µm ×2 + 0.04 µm ×2), delivering ultra-low particulate counts that prevent microchannel clogging in OoC and MPS devices.
Standard 0.22 µm filtration leaves intact mycoplasma-sized particulates (0.2–0.3 µm) and subvisible debris that accumulate in microchannels. FluxMPS™ uses four sequential stages reaching 0.04 µm, delivering approximately 5× lower particulate counts per USP <788> Method 1.
This formulation contains 1000 mg/L (1.0 g/L) glucose and no sodium pyruvate. Contact support@diagnocine.com for a custom concentration, or supplement directly before use for short-term experiments.
This formulation is HEPES-buffered, reducing CO₂ dependency. Standard 5–10% CO₂ incubation remains compatible.
Yes. FluxMPS™ Minimum Essential Medium (MEM), Low Glucose & 25mM HEPES w/o Sodium Pyruvate: 1X Liquid can be supplemented with FBS (5–20%), growth factors, antibiotics, or other additives per standard practice. Add supplements immediately before use. Filter serum-containing additions through a 0.2 µm low-protein-binding PES or PVDF membrane — never 0.04 µm, which strips serum of essential components.
Endotoxin is controlled per manufacturing batch rather than per unit. Every batch is tested before release by LAL assay (USP <85> BET, assay sensitivity 0.005 EU/mL) and must meet the release specification of < 0.05 EU/mL. Lot-specific results are documented in the Certificate of Analysis, available from support@diagnocine.com.
Yes. A batch-specific CoA is available for every shipment and includes: appearance, pH (USP <791>), osmolality (USP <785>), endotoxin (USP <85> BET), sterility (USP <71>), particulate matter (USP <788> Method 1), raw material traceability, manufacturing date, and authorized release signatures.
