Contains HEPES Contains Calcium Contains Magnesium Contains Glucose Contains Sodium Pyruvate Without L-Glutamine Without Sodium Bicarbonate Without Phenol Red

FluxMPS™ Minimum Essential Medium (MEM), Low Glucose & 25mM HEPES w/o L-Glutamine, Sodium Bicarbonate, Phenol Red: 1X Liquid is a Microfluidics Suitable, ultra-filtered cell culture medium engineered for organ-on-a-chip (OoC), tissue-on-a-chip (ToC), and microphysiological system (MPS) applications. A quadruple-stage train (0.1 µm ×2 + 0.04 µm ×2) reaches a 0.04 µm final cut-off, five times finer than the 0.22 µm membranes used for conventional sterile filtration.

  • Quadruple-stage nano-filtration: 0.1 µm (Prefiltration I & II) + 0.04 µm (Final filtration I & II — Polish)
  • Endotoxin release specification: < 0.05 EU/mL (USP <85> BET, LAL assay)
  • Low-glucose MEM base (1.0 g/L) with 25 mM HEPES buffering; supplied without L-glutamine, sodium bicarbonate, or phenol red
  • pH 7.4 (USP <791>); HEPES-buffered with reduced CO2 dependence — validate per cell line

Why FluxMPS™

Engineered where standard media fails

Conventional 0.22 µm-filtered media carry mycoplasma-scale particulates (0.2–0.3 µm), subvisible debris, and lot-to-lot particulate variability that accumulate inside microchannels — corrupting biosensor readings and shortening device lifetimes. FluxMPS™ is built to reduce these failure modes at the filtration stage.

filter_alt

Microchannel-safe purity

0.04 µm final filter retains particles to sub-mycoplasma size; USP <788> Method 1 (light obscuration) particulate compliance targeted on every lot.

Purity Architecture

Quadruple-stage filtration system

FluxMPS™ Minimum Essential Medium (MEM), Low Glucose & 25mM HEPES w/o L-Glutamine, Sodium Bicarbonate, Phenol Red: 1X Liquid is processed through a four-stage serial filtration sequence — two dedicated prefilter + final-filter pairs — reaching a 0.04 µm final cut-off, reducing subvisible particulates and mycoplasma-scale contaminants beyond what single-pass 0.22 µm filtration retains.

  1. 1

    0.1 µm Prefiltration I

Removes large particulates, cell debris, and protein aggregates; protects the first 0.04 µm final-filter cartridge.

  2. 2

    0.04 µm Final filtration I

First 0.04 µm pass; retains sub-micron particulates and microaggregates that pass through a 0.22 µm filter, including mycoplasma-scale material (0.2–0.3 µm).

  3. 3

    0.1 µm Prefiltration II

Second dedicated prefilter, protecting the second 0.04 µm final-filter cartridge and providing redundancy for the train.

  4. 4

0.04 µm Final filtration II — Polish

Ultimate polishing filter; aseptic fill and finish in an ISO Class 5 laminar-flow workstation.

Performance vs. conventional media

Four sequential stages reaching 0.04 µm deliver approximately 5× cleaner media by particulate count compared to single-pass 0.22 µm filtration, with USP <788> Method 1 compliance targeted on every lot.

Sterility assurance: Every lot undergoes 14-day USP <71> sterility testing. Mycoplasma is controlled via 0.1 µm mycoplasma-retentive filtration; per-lot mycoplasma testing (e.g., USP <63>) is not performed unless separately specified.
Grade: This product is Microfluidics Suitable, filtered to a 0.04 µm final cut-off. It is not an MPS Grade product — that designation is reserved for the 0.01 µm ultra nano-filtered line, which adds 0.02 µm and 0.01 µm stages after the 0.04 µm polish. For applications requiring the 0.01 µm cut-off, contact support@diagnocine.com.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about FluxMPS™ Minimum Essential Medium (MEM), Low Glucose & 25mM HEPES w/o L-Glutamine, Sodium Bicarbonate, Phenol Red: 1X Liquid and Microfluidics Suitable cell culture media.

Yes. DCP-MEMH-QBRN1X uses our Quadruple-stage filtration (0.1 µm ×2 + 0.04 µm ×2), delivering low particulate counts suited to microchannel-based OoC and MPS devices.
Standard 0.22 µm filtration does not reliably retain mycoplasma-scale material (0.2–0.3 µm) or subvisible particulates. FluxMPS™ uses four sequential stages reaching 0.04 µm, retaining more sub-micron particulate matter by pore-size exclusion and delivering approximately 5× lower particulate counts per USP <788> Method 1.
L-glutamine is omitted because it degrades in liquid storage; add fresh L-glutamine (or a stable dipeptide substitute such as GlutaMAX) to your target concentration immediately before use. Sodium bicarbonate and phenol red are omitted to keep the medium HEPES-buffered and optically neutral, which supports Seahorse XF-style extracellular flux assays and phenol-red-sensitive imaging. Contact support@diagnocine.com for a custom pre-formulated variant.
This formulation is HEPES-buffered and contains no sodium bicarbonate, giving it reduced CO2 dependence. It is generally compatible with ambient-air or low-CO2 culture systems; validate incubation conditions for your specific cell line.
Yes. This medium can be supplemented with FBS, growth factors, antibiotics, or other additives per standard practice. If filtering a serum-containing supplement before addition, use a 0.2 µm low-protein-binding PES or PVDF filter — never a 0.04 µm filter, which retains immunoglobulins, lipoproteins, and other serum components. Add supplements immediately before use.
Endotoxin is controlled per manufacturing batch via LAL assay per USP <85> BET (assay sensitivity 0.005 EU/mL). The release specification is < 0.05 EU/mL. Batch-specific results are reported on the Certificate of Analysis, available from support@diagnocine.com.
Yes. A lot-specific CoA is available for every shipment and includes: appearance, pH (USP <791>), osmolality (USP <785>), endotoxin (USP <85> BET), sterility (USP <71>), particulate matter (USP <788> Method 1), raw material traceability, manufacturing date, and authorized release signatures.
