Why FluxMPS™

Engineered where standard media fails

Conventional 0.22 µm-filtered media carry mycoplasma-sized particulates (0.2–0.3 µm), subvisible debris, and lot-to-lot variability that accumulate inside microchannels — corrupting biosensor readings, triggering inflammation in primary cultures, and shortening device lifetimes. FluxMPS™ is built to address these failure modes at the filtration stage.

filter_alt

Microchannel-safe purity

0.04 µm final filter retains particles to sub-mycoplasma size; USP <788> Method 1 (light obscuration) particulate compliance verified per lot.

Purity Architecture

Quadruple-stage filtration system

FluxMPS™ Minimum Essential Medium (MEM), Low Glucose & 25mM HEPES w/o L-Glutamine, Sodium Pyruvate, Sodium Bicarbonate: 1X Liquid is processed through a four-stage filtration train reaching a 0.04 µm final cut-off — addressing mycoplasma-sized particulates and subvisible material that 0.22 µm filtration does not retain.

  1. 1

    0.1 µm Prefiltration I

Removes large particulates, cell debris, and protein aggregates; protects the first 0.04 µm final filter cartridge.

  2. 2

    0.04 µm Final filtration I

First 0.04 µm pass; retains sub-micron particulates and microaggregates that pass through a 0.22 µm filter.

  3. 3

    0.1 µm Prefiltration II

Second dedicated prefilter, protecting the second 0.04 µm final filter cartridge.

  4. 4

0.04 µm Final filtration II — Polish

Ultimate polishing filter; aseptic fill & finish in a validated ISO Class 5 laminar-flow workstation.

Filtration architecture vs. conventional media

A quadruple-stage train (0.1 µm ×2 + 0.04 µm ×2) reaches a 0.04 µm final cut-off, five times finer than the 0.22 µm membranes used in conventional single-pass filtration. Every lot is verified for USP <788> Method 1 (light obscuration) particulate compliance.

5×
Finer final pore size than conventional 0.22 µm media (0.22 ÷ 0.04)
0.04
µm final filter pore size — sub-mycoplasma polishing
Sterility assurance: Every lot undergoes 14-day USP <71> sterility testing. Mycoplasma risk is controlled via 0.1 µm mycoplasma-retentive filtration (not tested per lot).
Grade: This product is Microfluidics Suitable, filtered to a 0.04 µm final cut-off. It is not an MPS Grade product — that designation is reserved for the 0.01 µm ultra nano-filtered line, which adds 0.02 µm and 0.01 µm stages after the 0.04 µm polish. For applications requiring the 0.01 µm cut-off, contact support@diagnocine.com.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about FluxMPS™ Minimum Essential Medium (MEM), Low Glucose & 25mM HEPES w/o L-Glutamine, Sodium Pyruvate, Sodium Bicarbonate: 1X Liquid.

Yes. DCP-MEMH-QPBN1X uses a quadruple-stage filtration train (0.1 µm ×2 + 0.04 µm ×2), delivering a 0.04 µm final cut-off that supports microchannel-safe perfusion in OoC and MPS devices.
Standard 0.22 µm filtration does not retain mycoplasma-sized particulates (0.2–0.3 µm). FluxMPS™ uses four sequential stages reaching a 0.04 µm final cut-off — five times finer than 0.22 µm — verified per lot under USP <788> Method 1.
This is a base formulation designed for custom supplementation. L-glutamine (or a stable dipeptide alternative) should be added to a final concentration appropriate for your cell type immediately before use. Sodium pyruvate can be added if required by your protocol. This formulation is HEPES-buffered and bicarbonate-free, so CO2 supplementation is not required for pH control — see the next question.
This formulation is HEPES-buffered and bicarbonate-free, reducing CO2 dependence. Validate incubation conditions per cell line.
Yes. This medium can be supplemented with FBS, growth factors, antibiotics, or other additives per standard practice. For serum or protein-containing supplements, use a 0.2 µm low-protein-binding PES or PVDF filter (never 0.04 µm, which retains serum proteins). Add supplements immediately before use.
Every production batch is tested by LAL assay per USP <85> BET before release. Release specification: < 0.05 EU/mL; assay sensitivity 0.005 EU/mL. Batch-specific results are available in the Certificate of Analysis.
Yes. A lot-specific CoA is available for every shipment and includes: appearance, pH (USP <791>), osmolality (USP <785>), endotoxin (USP <85> BET), sterility (USP <71>), particulate matter (USP <788>), raw material traceability, manufacturing date, and authorized release signatures.
