The RWD-68601 Mouse Gas Anesthesia Mask Kit is a specialized stereotaxic accessory engineered for precise, safe, and efficient delivery of inhalation anesthesia to mice or neonatal rats (<70g) during surgical and neuroscience procedures. This kit is designed to fit most stereotaxic frames and integrates seamlessly with mouse adaptors (e.g., 68030, 68036, 68055), minimizing anesthetic gas exposure to researchers and maximizing animal safety.

• Frame-Compatible Nosecone Design:

  • Specifically shaped to lock onto the stereotaxic adaptor with the cone opening toward the open “U,” ensuring a tight seal and optimal gas delivery.

  • The animal’s teeth are placed over the incisor bar for stable positioning.

• Passive Scavenging System:

  • The 68601 kit includes a “passive” mask featuring collinear inlet and outlet ports, designed for use with a charcoal canister (included) to safely capture waste anesthetic gases without active suction.

• Minimal Exposure:

  • Delivers anesthetic gases directly to the animal’s nose, significantly reducing operator exposure and environmental contamination during surgery.

• Complete Kit:

  • Supplied with a charcoal canister and tubing for immediate setup and use.

• Compatibility:

  • For use with mice or neonatal rats (<70g) and compatible with mouse stereotaxic adaptors 68030, 68036, and 68055.

  • Not for use with rats or animals over 70g; see RWD-68602 and related models for larger species.

• Variants Available:

  • “Active” evacuation mask models (e.g., 68663, 68665) are available for use with evacuation apparatus and feature non-collinear inlet/outlet for active scavenging.
