KANEKA RT-PCR Kit, SARS-CoV-2 (Omicron/Delta) Ver.2
Cat No. FNK-KN-T101103
Product overview
- It can simultaneously identify the Omicron and Delta variants by detecting two mutations of spike protein characteristic of the Omicron variant (E484A and N856K) and a mutation characteristic of the Delta variant (L452R).
- Operation step: (Sample collection → RNA extraction) → One-step RT-qPCR (about 1 hour)
This product is a 1-step RT-PCR (Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction) that combines a fluorescent probe. The E484A mutation, which is commonly found in the spike protein of SARS-CoV-2 Omicron strains BA.1 and BA.2, was detected using The N856K mutation, which is characteristic of the spike protein of the same BA.1 strain, is found in the spike protein of the Delta strain (B.1.617.2 strain).A reagent for detecting the L452R mutation. The fluorescent probe contained in the reaction solution has a quencher at the 3' end and a fluorescent substance (for E484A detection: FAM, Modified with N856K detection: Chloro fluorescein, L452R detection: ROX), and four types of deoxynucleotides. The fluorescent probe is degraded during the process of elongating the DNA while incorporating triphosphate, and until then it is quenched by the quencher. The fluorescent substance that was exposed to light is released and emits fluorescence. Real-time PCR equipment detects fluorescence during each PCR cycle. The presence or absence of mutations in the spike protein gene of SARS-CoV-2 is determined from the Ct value of each fluorescence
