Overview

A broad-range, ready-to-load ladder covering small PCR products through 8 kb fragments.

This kit provides the three essential reagents for routine agarose gel electrophoresis of DNA fragments in the 100–8000 bp range. The DNA marker contains ten linear double-stranded DNA fragments at 100, 250, 500, 750, 1000, 1500, 2000, 3000, 5000 and 8000 bp.

The marker also comes premixed with loading buffer, so you can load it directly with no mixing or extra pipetting. The electrophoresis bands are clear, facilitating accurate determination of the DNA content of the target band. When in use, take 5-10 µL and it can be directly used for gel electrophoresis. Paired with a concentrated TAE buffer [50X] and a Gel Loading Buffer [10X] for your samples, it takes you from sample to sized bands quickly and consistently.

Each kit contains a tube of Loading Buffer [10X]. Combine the loading buffer with the DNA sample to achieve a 1X final concentration, then mix thoroughly and load the sample for agarose gel electrophoresis.

REFERENCE BAND

Within the DNA Marker, the 500 bp fragment is intentionally enhanced for easy identification and produces a brighter band. This fragment contains 100 ng DNA per 5 µL, whereas each of the remaining DNA fragments contains 50 ng per 5 µL.

Features & Applications

Ready-to-load marker

Premixed with loading buffer, so you pipette it directly into the well. This saves a step and removes a common source of pipetting error.

One ladder for most routine work

The 100 bp to 8 kb range spans short amplicons, colony PCR products, restriction fragments and plasmid work, so a single marker serves the whole bench.

TAE for downstream recovery

TAE contains no borate, so DNA cut from the gel performs well in ligation, cloning and sequencing.

Clear, easy-to-read bands

Well-resolved reference bands make size estimates quick and reliable.

Applications

  • Verification and sizing of PCR and RT-PCR products
  • Restriction enzyme digest analysis and plasmid mapping
  • Colony PCR screening
  • Checking insert size and linearized vectors before cloning
  • Routine molecular biology and teaching laboratories (For Laboratory Use Only. Not for Clinical Use).

Caution

  • After thawing is complete, store the DNA Marker and the Loading Buffer [10X] at 4°C. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
  • Replace the electrophoresis buffer as needed, and use freshly prepared agarose gels to help ensure consistent and reliable electrophoresis results.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including a lab coat and disposable gloves, while handling the product and performing electrophoresis.

Quality: Manufactured under ISO 13485-certified facilities.

Assay Protocol / Procedures

Step 1
Thaw the DNA marker completely and mix thoroughly before use.
Step 2
Load 5 µL of the DNA marker into an agarose-gel well. Adjust the loading volume based on well width at approximately 1 µL per 1 mm of well width; increase the volume proportionally for wider wells.
Step 3
Proceed with electrophoresis.
Step 4
For optimal separation, run the gel using 1% agarose at 4–10 V/cm.
Step 5
Stain the gel with ethidium bromide (EB) or another suitable nucleic-acid stain. Visualize the DNA bands using a UV transilluminator.
