DNA Marker (100-700 bp) with TBE & Loading Dye
Catalog No.: DCP-D100-700B
Size: 1 kit per unit
Base Pair: 100 - 700 base pairs
Running Buffer: TBE (Tris-Borate-EDTA)
Description:
Run, track and size small DNA fragments with a marker that goes straight into the well.
This kit provides the three essential reagents for routine agarose gel electrophoresis of DNA fragments in the 100–700 bp range. The DNA marker contains seven linear double-stranded DNA fragments at 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, and 700 bp.
The marker also comes premixed with loading buffer, so you can load it directly with no mixing or extra pipetting. The electrophoresis bands are clear, facilitating accurate determination of the DNA content of the target band. When in use, take 5-10 μL and it can be directly used for gel electrophoresis. Paired with a concentrated TBE buffer [10X] and a Gel Loading Buffer [10X] for your samples, it takes you from sample to sized bands quickly and consistently.
Each kit contains a tube of Loading Buffer [10X]. Combine the loading buffer with the DNA sample to achieve a 1X final concentration, then mix thoroughly and load the sample for agarose gel electrophoresis.
Within the DNA Marker, the 500 bp fragment is intentionally enhanced for easy identification and produces a brighter band. This fragment contains 100 ng DNA per 5 µL, whereas each of the remaining DNA fragments contains 50 ng per 5 µL.

Key Features:
- Ready-to-load marker. It is premixed with loading buffer, so you pipette it straight into the well. This saves time and removes a source of mixing errors.
- Complete workflow. One kit covers gel casting, sample loading and size determination.
- Optimized for small fragments. The 100–700 bp range covers typical PCR amplicons, colony PCR products and restriction fragments.
- Clear, easy-to-read bands. Well-resolved reference bands make size estimates quick and reliable.
- Concentrated, economical formats. The 10X sample loading buffer and concentrated TBE stock are diluted before use, so each kit goes further.
- Recovery-friendly buffer. TBE is well suited when DNA will be extracted from the gel for cloning or sequencing.
Applications:
- Verification of PCR and RT-PCR products
- Analysis of restriction enzyme digests
- Colony PCR screening
- DNA fragment size estimation
- Teaching labs and routine molecular biology training (For Laboratory Use Only. Not for Clinical Use).
Assay Protocol / Procedures
1. Thaw the DNA marker completely and mix thoroughly before use.
2. Load 5 µL of the DNA marker into an agarose-gel well. Adjust the loading volume based on well width at approximately 1 µL per 1 mm of well width; increase the volume proportionally for wider wells.
3. Proceed with electrophoresis.
4. For optimal separation, run the gel using 2% agarose at 4–10 V/cm.
5. Stain the gel with ethidium bromide (EB) or another suitable nucleic-acid stain. Visualize the DNA bands using a UV transilluminator.

Caution:
- After thawing is complete, store the DNA Marker and the Loading Buffer [10X] store at 4°C. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
- Replace the electrophoresis buffer as needed, and use freshly prepared agarose gels to help ensure consistent and reliable electrophoresis results.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including a lab coat and disposable gloves, while handling the product and performing electrophoresis.
