Description:
A reagent fully compatible (not exclusive) with the Blood Coagulation Analyzer (Catalog No.: DCBio-SACA) [Link]

A precision-standardized, ready-to-use aqueous solution of calcium chloride at 0.025 mol/L (25 mmol/L), formulated specifically as the recalcification reagent (R2) in Activated Partial Thromboplastin Time (APTT) two-reagent coagulation systems. When added to citrated platelet-poor plasma pre-incubated with the APTT phospholipid/activator reagent (R1), this solution restores the free ionic calcium that was chelated during blood collection, thereby triggering the intrinsic and common coagulation pathways and initiating timed clot formation.

Supplied as a stable liquid ready for immediate use, this reagent requires no reconstitution or dilution.

The concentration of 0.025 mol/L (M/40) is the internationally established, standardized concentration for APTT recalcification reagents. Published research demonstrates that calcium concentration critically influences APTT results: the aPTT ratio (heparinized plasma vs. control plasma) increases as CaCl₂ concentration rises from 15 to 35 mmol/L, confirming that assay performance and heparin sensitivity are directly dependent on precise calcium molarity. Use of the standardized 0.025 M concentration ensures reproducible clotting times, inter-laboratory comparability, and appropriate sensitivity to the intrinsic and common coagulation pathway factors

Pre-warm to 37°C before use for at least 10–15 minutes, or as specified in the APTT R1 package insert. Use of cold reagent will artificially prolong clotting times.
