PVSA-Sodium Phosphate, 1X is a ready-to-use, high-purity sodium phosphate buffer formulated to be RNase-safe for sensitive RNA and DNA workflows at near-neutral pH. It is supplemented with polyvinylsulfonic acid (PVSA), a potent polymeric RNase inhibitor that helps preserve RNA integrity during sample handling, processing, and short-term storage. The buffer provides the well-defined buffering capacity of 1X sodium phosphate at physiological pH, making it suitable for use with purified nucleic acids, RNA-containing samples, and cells in downstream molecular biology applications where phosphate buffer is preferred.
Applications:
- RNA and DNA Resuspension: Resuspension and dilution of nucleic acids in a phosphate-based buffer with added RNase protection for storage or downstream analysis.
- RNA Handling and Short-Term Storage: Temporary storage of RNA-containing samples, lysates, or purified RNA in a controlled, near?neutral phosphate buffer.
- Sample Preparation for Enzymatic Assays: Handling and transfer of nucleic acids prior to downstream applications (e.g., RT, qPCR, library prep), as compatible with enzyme-specific phosphate tolerance.
- Cell and Tissue Processing: Gentle washing or processing of cells and tissues in workflows where RNA integrity is important and phosphate buffer is desired.
