Descriptions:
1M Calcium Chloride (CaCl
2) Solution is a ready-to-use source of calcium ions designed for cell culture, molecular biology, and general biochemical applications. It is commonly used to adjust extracellular calcium levels, support competent cell preparation, and modulate ionic strength and osmotic pressure in specialized media and buffers.
Features:
- Free of detectable DNase, RNase, and protease activity in molecular biology grade formulations.
- Ready to use as a stock; can be directly added to media or diluted into custom buffer formulations as required by the protocol.
Applications:
- Adjustment of calcium levels in cell culture media to support cell signaling, adhesion, and growth requirements.
- Preparation and transformation of competent bacterial cells, where CaCl2 enhances membrane permeability and DNA uptake.
- Use in enzymatic reactions, protoplast preparation, and other molecular biology procedures requiring controlled calcium ion concentration.
Composition:
1M Calcium Chloride (CaCl
