FluxMPS™ Minimum Essential Medium (MEM), High Glucose & 25mM HEPES w/o Sodium Bicarbonate: 1X Liquid

Contains L-Glutamine Contains Phenol Red Contains HEPES Contains Calcium Contains Magnesium Contains Glucose Contains Sodium Pyruvate Without Sodium Bicarbonate

FluxMPS™ Minimum Essential Medium (MEM), High Glucose & 25mM HEPES w/o Sodium Bicarbonate: 1X Liquid is a Microfluidics Suitable, ultra-filtered cell culture medium engineered for organ-on-a-chip (OoC), tissue-on-a-chip (ToC), and microphysiological system (MPS) applications. A quadruple-stage train (0.1 µm ×2 + 0.04 µm ×2) reaches a 0.04 µm final cut-off, five times finer than the 0.22 µm membranes used for conventional sterile filtration.

  • High glucose (4.5 g/L) Minimum Essential Medium formulated with 25 mM HEPES for enhanced buffering and reduced CO₂ dependence
  • Bicarbonate-free formulation (sodium bicarbonate not added) — pairs with HEPES buffering for stable pH outside high-CO₂ incubators
  • Quadruple-stage filtration train: 0.1 µm → 0.04 µm → 0.1 µm → 0.04 µm, four passes, reaching a 0.04 µm final cut-off
  • Endotoxin release specification: < 0.05 EU/mL (LAL assay, USP <85> BET), tested per manufacturing batch
  • Contains L-glutamine (292 mg/L), sodium pyruvate (110 mg/L) and phenol red (11 mg/L) — full formulation detailed in the composition tables below
  • Manufactured under an ISO 13485:2016 quality management system with aseptic fill & finish at Diagnocine, Totowa, NJ
  • Prepared with Ultrapure Type 1 water (18.2 MΩ·cm) under controlled trace-metal and TOC conditions
  • Custom formulations available — pH, glucose, salts, HEPES, and nutrient composition adjustable on request

Why FluxMPS™

Engineered where standard media fails

Conventional 0.22 µm-filtered media carry mycoplasma-sized particulates (0.2–0.3 µm), subvisible debris, and endotoxin variability that accumulate inside microchannels — corrupting biosensor readings, triggering inflammation in primary cultures, and shortening device lifetimes. FluxMPS™ reduces these risks at the source.

filter_alt

Microchannel-safe purity

0.04 µm final filter retains particles down to sub-mycoplasma size; USP <788> particulate compliance verified per batch.

target

High-glucose metabolic support

4.5 g/L glucose supports high-energy-demand cell types including HeLa, MCF-7, fibroblasts, and iPSC-derived models in perfusion devices.

water_drop

Ultrapure-grade water

Prepared with Type 1 water (18.2 MΩ·cm) under controlled trace-metal and organic-carbon (TOC) specifications, reducing chemical background relevant to sensitive assays.

Purity Architecture

Quadruple-stage filtration system

FluxMPS™ Minimum Essential Medium (MEM), High Glucose & 25mM HEPES w/o Sodium Bicarbonate: 1X Liquid is processed through a four-stage filtration train — two dedicated prefilter + final-filter pairs — reaching a 0.04 µm final pore size, addressing mycoplasma-scale particulates and subvisible debris that 0.22 µm filtration cannot.

  1. 1

    0.1 µm Prefiltration I

Removes large particulates, cell debris and protein aggregates; protects the first 0.04 µm final-filter cartridge.

  2. 2

    0.04 µm Final filtration I

First 0.04 µm pass; retains sub-micron particulates and microaggregates that pass through a 0.22 µm filter.

  3. 3

    0.1 µm Prefiltration II

Second dedicated prefilter, protecting the second 0.04 µm final-filter cartridge from breakthrough particulate.

  4. 4

0.04 µm Final filtration II — Polish

Ultimate polishing filter; aseptic fill & finish performed in a validated ISO Class 5 laminar-flow workstation.

Performance vs. conventional media

Two sequential prefilter + final-filter pairs reaching 0.04 µm deliver approximately 5× cleaner media by particulate count compared to single-pass 0.22 µm filtration, with USP <788> compliance verified on every production batch.

Sterility assurance: Every batch undergoes 14-day USP <71> sterility testing. Mycoplasma risk is mitigated via 0.1 µm mycoplasma-retentive filtration (not tested per lot). No bacterial or fungal growth observed in sterility testing.
Grade: This product is Microfluidics Suitable, filtered to a 0.04 µm final cut-off. It is not an MPS Grade product — that designation is reserved for the 0.01 µm ultra nano-filtered line, which adds 0.02 µm and 0.01 µm stages after the 0.04 µm polish. For applications requiring the 0.01 µm cut-off, contact support@diagnocine.com.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about FluxMPS™ Minimum Essential Medium (MEM), High Glucose & 25mM HEPES w/o Sodium Bicarbonate: 1X Liquid and Microfluidics Suitable cell culture media.

Yes. DCP-MEMGH-BN1X uses our Quadruple-stage filtration (0.1 µm ×2 + 0.04 µm ×2), delivering ultra-low particulate counts that reduce microchannel clogging risk in OoC and MPS devices.
Standard 0.22 µm filtration does not retain mycoplasma-scale particulates (0.2–0.3 µm) or subvisible debris that accumulate in microchannels. FluxMPS™ uses two dedicated prefilter + final-filter pairs reaching 0.04 µm, delivering approximately 5× lower particulate counts per USP <788>.
The 4.5 g/L (4500 mg/L) glucose level supports metabolically demanding cell types including HeLa, MCF-7, fibroblasts, and high-density suspension cultures. If your cell type requires a lower glucose concentration, contact support@diagnocine.com for a custom formulation.
This formulation is bicarbonate-free and HEPES-buffered (25 mM), reducing CO₂ dependence. Standard CO₂ incubation remains compatible; validate against your specific cell line and culture format.
Yes. FluxMPS™ Minimum Essential Medium (MEM), High Glucose & 25mM HEPES w/o Sodium Bicarbonate: 1X Liquid can be supplemented with FBS (5–20%), growth factors, antibiotics, or other additives per standard practice. Add supplements immediately before use, and pre-filter serum-containing additions through a 0.2 µm low-protein-binding PES or PVDF filter before addition to protect microfluidic channels.
Every production batch is tested by LAL assay per USP <85> BET. Release specification: < 0.05 EU/mL. Batch-specific results are documented in the Certificate of Analysis, available from support@diagnocine.com.
Yes. A batch-specific CoA is available for every shipment and includes: appearance, pH (USP <791>), osmolality (USP <785>), endotoxin (USP <85> BET), sterility (USP <71>), particulate matter (USP <788> Method 1), raw material traceability, manufacturing date, and authorized release signatures.
