FluxMPS™ Minimum Essential Medium (MEM), High Glucose & 25mM HEPES w/o Phenol Red: 1X Liquid

Contains L-Glutamine Contains Sodium Bicarbonate Contains HEPES Contains Calcium Contains Magnesium Contains Glucose Contains Sodium Pyruvate Without Phenol Red

FluxMPS™ Minimum Essential Medium (MEM), High Glucose & 25mM HEPES w/o Phenol Red: 1X Liquid is a Microfluidics Suitable, quadruple-stage ultra-filtered cell culture medium engineered for organ-on-a-chip (OoC), tissue-on-a-chip (ToC), and microphysiological system (MPS) applications. A quadruple-stage train (0.1 µm ×2 + 0.04 µm ×2) reaches a 0.04 µm final cut-off, five times finer than the 0.22 µm membranes used for conventional sterile filtration.

  • High-glucose (4.5 g/L) MEM formulation with 25 mM HEPES and no phenol red — suited to high-energy-demand cell types and optical/TEER-sensitive assays
  • Quadruple-stage filtration train: 0.1 µm → 0.04 µm → 0.1 µm → 0.04 µm, reaching a 0.04 µm final cut-off
  • Endotoxin release specification < 0.05 EU/mL (USP <85> BET), controlled per manufacturing batch
  • Formulated with L-glutamine (292 mg/L), sodium pyruvate (110 mg/L) and sodium bicarbonate (2200 mg/L) alongside HEPES for dual-buffer pH stability
  • Manufactured under an ISO 13485:2016 quality management system; aseptic fill and finish in Totowa, NJ
  • Microfluidics Suitable grade — 0.04 µm final filtration engineered for organ-on-a-chip (OoC) and microphysiological system (MPS) devices
  • Custom pH, glucose, salts, HEPES and nutrient composition available on request

Why FluxMPS™

Engineered where standard media fails

Conventional 0.22 µm-filtered media carry mycoplasma-sized particulates (0.2–0.3 µm), subvisible debris, and endotoxin variability that accumulate inside microchannels — corrupting biosensor readings and shortening device lifetimes. FluxMPS™ addresses these failure modes at the filtration stage.

Purity Architecture

Quadruple-stage filtration system

FluxMPS™ Minimum Essential Medium (MEM), High Glucose & 25mM HEPES w/o Phenol Red: 1X Liquid is processed through a four-stage filtration train — two dedicated prefilter/final-filter pairs — reaching a 0.04 µm final cut-off, addressing mycoplasma-sized particulates and subvisible particles that 0.22 µm filtration cannot.

  1. 1

    0.1 µm Prefiltration I

Removes large particulates, cell debris and protein aggregates; protects the first 0.04 µm cartridge.

  2. 2

    0.04 µm Final filtration I

First 0.04 µm pass; retains sub-micron particulates and microaggregates that pass a 0.22 µm filter, including mycoplasma-sized organisms (0.2–0.3 µm).

  3. 3

    0.1 µm Prefiltration II

Second dedicated prefilter, protecting the second 0.04 µm cartridge and providing full-train redundancy.

  4. 4

0.04 µm Final filtration II — Polish

Ultimate polishing filter; aseptic fill performed in an ISO Class 5 laminar-flow workstation.

Performance vs. conventional media

Four sequential stages reaching 0.04 µm deliver approximately 5× cleaner media by particulate count compared to single-pass 0.22 µm filtration, with USP <788> Method 1 compliance verified on every production lot.

Sterility assurance: Every lot undergoes 14-day USP <71> sterility testing. Mycoplasma control is achieved via 0.1 µm mycoplasma-retentive filtration (not tested per lot); no bacterial or fungal growth observed in sterility testing.
Grade: This product is Microfluidics Suitable, filtered to a 0.04 µm final cut-off. It is not an MPS Grade product — that designation is reserved for the 0.01 µm ultra nano-filtered line, which adds 0.02 µm and 0.01 µm stages after the 0.04 µm polish. For applications requiring the 0.01 µm cut-off, contact support@diagnocine.com.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about FluxMPS™ Minimum Essential Medium (MEM), High Glucose & 25mM HEPES w/o Phenol Red: 1X Liquid and Microfluidics Suitable cell culture media.

Yes. DCP-MEMGH-RN1X uses our Quadruple-stage filtration (0.1 µm ×2 + 0.04 µm ×2), delivering ultra-low particulate counts that help prevent microchannel clogging in OoC and MPS devices.
Standard 0.22 µm filtration does not retain mycoplasma-sized organisms (0.2–0.3 µm) or all subvisible particulates that accumulate in microchannels. FluxMPS™ uses four sequential stages reaching 0.04 µm, delivering approximately 5× lower particulate counts per USP <788> Method 1.
The 4.5 g/L (4500 mg/L) glucose level supports metabolically demanding cell types including HeLa, MCF-7, fibroblasts, and high-density cultures. If your cell type requires a lower glucose concentration, contact support@diagnocine.com for a custom formulation.
This formulation retains sodium bicarbonate (2200 mg/L) alongside 25 mM HEPES. Approximately 5% CO₂ is recommended, consistent with the bicarbonate content; HEPES buffering provides additional pH stability and reduces strict CO₂ dependency.
Yes. FluxMPS™ Minimum Essential Medium (MEM), High Glucose & 25mM HEPES w/o Phenol Red: 1X Liquid can be supplemented with FBS (5–20%), growth factors, antibiotics, or other additives per standard practice. If filtering supplements before addition, use a 0.2 µm low-protein-binding PES or PVDF membrane for serum or protein-containing additions — never 0.04 µm, which strips serum of the proteins and lipoproteins that make it effective. Add supplements immediately before use.
Endotoxin is controlled per manufacturing batch. Every batch is tested by LAL assay per USP <85> BET (assay sensitivity 0.005 EU/mL) and must meet the release specification of < 0.05 EU/mL before shipment. Batch-specific results are documented on the CoA, available from support@diagnocine.com.
Yes. A batch-specific CoA is available for every shipment and includes: appearance, pH (USP <791>), osmolality (USP <785>), endotoxin (USP <85> BET), sterility (USP <71>), particulate matter (USP <788>), raw material traceability, manufacturing date, expiry, and authorized release signatures.
