FluxMPS™ Minimum Essential Medium (MEM), Low Glucose, NEAA w/o L-Glutamine, Sodium Pyruvate, Sodium Bicarbonate, Phenol Red: 1X Liquid

Contains Calcium Contains Magnesium Contains Glucose (Low, 1.0 g/L) Without L-Glutamine Without Sodium Bicarbonate Without Phenol Red Without Sodium Pyruvate

FluxMPS™ DCP-MEM-QPBR1X is a Microfluidics Suitable, quadruple-stage ultra-filtered MEM Low Glucose + NEAA formulation engineered for primary fibroblasts and related cell models on organ-on-a-chip (OoC) and microphysiological system (MPS) platforms. A quadruple-stage train (0.1 µm ×2 + 0.04 µm ×2) reaches a 0.04 µm final cut-off, five times finer than the 0.22 µm membranes used for conventional sterile filtration. NEAA is pre-loaded, reducing metabolic burden on primary cells. Formulation: [+] Earle's Salts, [+] NEAA, [+] Low Glucose (1000 mg/L) | [-] L-Glutamine, [-] Sodium Pyruvate, [-] Sodium Bicarbonate, [-] Phenol Red.

  • Low Glucose (1.0 g/L) — a physiological carbon source for primary cells sensitive to high-glucose media.
  • NEAA included — reduces metabolic burden and ammonia accumulation from de novo amino acid synthesis.
  • 0.04 µm final nano-filtration — sub-mycoplasma-scale purity; release specification < 0.05 EU/mL endotoxin (USP <85>) for sensitive primary and hematopoietic cell cultures.
  • Quadruple-stage filtration: 0.1 µm Prefiltration I → 0.04 µm Final filtration I → 0.1 µm Prefiltration II → 0.04 µm Final filtration II — Polish.
  • Bicarbonate-free and phenol-red-free formulation — CO₂-independent buffering; supplement with HEPES (15–25 mM) if additional pH stability is required.
  • Manufactured under an ISO 13485:2016 quality management system; final QA release at Diagnocine's Totowa, NJ facility.
  • Microfluidics Suitable (0.04 µm final cut-off) — engineered for microfluidic channels, organ-on-a-chip (OoC) and microphysiological system (MPS) platforms; a separate 0.01 µm MPS Grade line is available on request.

Why FluxMPS™

Engineered for primary cell culture where standard media fails

MEM with Earle's Salts is the primary cell biologist's medium — but conventional 0.22 µm filtered MEM passes mycoplasma-sized particles, subvisible particulates, and endotoxin that alter primary cell phenotype. FluxMPS™ addresses these purity failure modes while preserving the full nutritional profile primary cells depend on.

filter_alt

Microchannel-safe purity

0.04 µm final filtration; USP <788> Method 1 particulate compliance. Low-particulate media helps prevent chip channel clogging in narrow microfluidic geometries.

biotech

Primary cell–optimized formulation

MEM + Earle's Salts + NEAA: an established base for primary fibroblasts, neurons, epithelial, and vascular cells.

water_drop

Ultrapure-grade water

Ultrapure Type 1 water (18.2 MΩ·cm) provides tight trace-metal and total organic carbon (TOC) control, supporting lot-to-lot consistency in primary cell culture performance.

Below the TLR4 endotoxin threshold

Release specification < 0.05 EU/mL endotoxin, below the conventional TLR4 activation threshold, helping minimize the risk of LPS-driven fibroblast activation, neuroinflammatory signaling, and epithelial barrier disruption in primary cell assays.

science

NEAA reduces metabolic burden

Pre-loaded NEAA reduces the de novo synthesis burden on primary cells, supporting viability in low-serum conditions and reducing ammonia accumulation.

Purity Architecture

Quadruple-stage filtration system

Four serial filtration stages, run as two dedicated prefilter + final-filter pairs, reaching a final 0.04 µm polish.

  1. 1

    0.1 µm Prefiltration I

Removes large aggregates and cell debris; protects the first 0.04 µm cartridge.

  2. 2

    0.04 µm Final filtration I

First 0.04 µm pass; retains sub-micron particulates and microaggregates that pass a 0.22 µm filter.

  3. 3

    0.1 µm Prefiltration II

Second dedicated prefilter, protecting the second 0.04 µm cartridge.

  4. 4

0.04 µm Final filtration II — Polish

Ultimate polishing filter; aseptic fill & finish.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about FluxMPS™ DCP-MEM-QPBR1X.

Yes. DCP-MEM-QPBR1X is processed through a Quadruple-stage filtration system reaching a 0.04 µm final pore size, delivering ultra-low particulate levels for MPS, OoC, and LoC platforms. MEM + Earle's Salts + NEAA with sub-mycoplasma-scale filtration purity is well suited to primary neuronal, epithelial, and fibroblast OoC platforms.

All four optional components are removed simultaneously: L-glutamine, sodium pyruvate, sodium bicarbonate (CO₂-dependent buffering), and phenol red (autofluorescence/estrogenic activity). Only Earle's Salts, NEAA, and low glucose remain. Researchers add L-glutamine (or a stable dipeptide substitute), sodium pyruvate, a bicarbonate or HEPES buffering system, and phenol red as needed for their specific cell type and assay. NEAA is pre-loaded, which reduces the metabolic burden of de novo amino acid synthesis and helps lower ammonia accumulation in primary cell culture.
No. This formulation is bicarbonate-free and CO₂-independent. Supplement with HEPES (15–25 mM) for pH buffering if a standard incubator without CO₂ control is used.
Yes. Diagnocine recommends filtering serum, growth factor, or other protein-containing supplements through a 0.2 µm low-protein-binding PES or PVDF filter before addition, to preserve protein and lipoprotein activity. A 0.04 µm membrane is not recommended for serum-containing supplements, as it retains large serum proteins, IgM, and lipoproteins. Defined, protein-free additions may be filtered through a 0.1 µm membrane.
FluxMPS™ DCP-MEM-QPBR1X carries a release specification of < 0.05 EU/mL, verified by LAL assay (USP <85>) on every manufacturing batch, with an assay sensitivity of 0.005 EU/mL. For primary cells, endotoxin activates TLR4 signaling, which can alter fibroblast activation state, neuronal inflammatory gene expression, and epithelial barrier function.
Yes. Full CoA per lot covers: appearance, pH (USP <791>), osmolality (USP <785>), sterility (USP <71>), endotoxin (USP <85>), mycoplasma filtration, particulate count (USP <788> Method 1), and raw-material traceability. Request at support@diagnocine.com.
