FluxMPS™ Minimum Essential Medium (MEM), Low Glucose & 25mM HEPES w/o Sodium Pyruvate, Sodium Bicarbonate: 1X Liquid is a Microfluidics Suitable, quadruple-stage ultra-filtered (0.1 µm ×2 + 0.04 µm ×2) 1X liquid cell culture medium engineered for organ-on-a-chip (OoC), tissue-on-a-chip (ToC), and microphysiological system (MPS) applications. A quadruple-stage train (0.1 µm ×2 + 0.04 µm ×2) reaches a 0.04 µm final cut-off, five times finer than the 0.22 µm membranes used for conventional sterile filtration.

  • Quadruple-stage filtration: 0.1 µm and 0.04 µm stages each run twice (0.1 → 0.04 → 0.1 → 0.04), reaching a 0.04 µm final polish
  • Endotoxin release specification: < 0.05 EU/mL (LAL, USP <85> BET), controlled per manufacturing batch
  • Low-glucose (1.0 g/L) MEM base with 25 mM HEPES buffering; formulated without sodium pyruvate and without sodium bicarbonate
  • HEPES-buffered, bicarbonate-free formulation reduces dependence on incubator CO₂ control — validate per cell line

Why FluxMPS™

Engineered where standard media fails

Conventional 0.22 µm-filtered media carry mycoplasma-sized particulates (0.2–0.3 µm), subvisible debris, and lot-to-lot endotoxin variability that accumulate inside microchannels — corrupting biosensor readings and shortening device lifetimes. FluxMPS™ is built around a four-stage 0.04 µm filtration train to address these failure modes.

filter_alt

Microchannel-safe purity

Purity Architecture

Quadruple-stage filtration system

FluxMPS™ Minimum Essential Medium (MEM), Low Glucose & 25mM HEPES w/o Sodium Pyruvate, Sodium Bicarbonate: 1X Liquid is processed through a validated four-stage serial filtration sequence reaching a 0.04 µm final pore size — engineered to retain mycoplasma-sized organisms (0.2–0.3 µm) and subvisible particulates that single-pass 0.22 µm filtration cannot address.

  1. 1

    0.1 µm Prefiltration I

Removes large particulates and protein/cell aggregates; protects the first 0.04 µm cartridge and extends filter life.

  2. 2

    0.04 µm Final filtration I

First 0.04 µm pass; retains mycoplasma-sized organisms (0.2–0.3 µm) and sub-micron particulates absent from standard 0.22 µm filtration.

  3. 3

    0.1 µm Prefiltration II

Second dedicated prefilter, protecting the second 0.04 µm cartridge for full redundancy.

  4. 4

0.04 µm Final filtration II — Polish

Ultimate polishing filter; aseptic fill & finish in a validated ISO Class 5 laminar-flow workstation.

Performance vs. conventional media

Four sequential stages reaching 0.04 µm deliver approximately 5× cleaner media by particulate count compared to single-pass 0.22 µm filtration, with USP <788> Method 1 (light obscuration) compliance verified on every lot.

Sterility assurance: Every lot undergoes 14-day USP <71> sterility testing. Mycoplasma risk is controlled via 0.1 µm mycoplasma-retentive prefiltration (not tested per lot).
Grade: This product is Microfluidics Suitable, filtered to a 0.04 µm final cut-off. It is not an MPS Grade product — that designation is reserved for the 0.01 µm ultra nano-filtered line, which adds 0.02 µm and 0.01 µm stages after the 0.04 µm polish. FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about FluxMPS™ Minimum Essential Medium (MEM), Low Glucose & 25mM HEPES w/o Sodium Pyruvate, Sodium Bicarbonate: 1X Liquid and Microfluidics Suitable cell culture media.

Yes. DCP-MEMH-PBN1X uses our quadruple-stage filtration (0.1 µm ×2 + 0.04 µm ×2), delivering ultra-low particulate counts that support microchannel-safe use in OoC and MPS devices. It is Microfluidics Suitable — filtered to a 0.04 µm final cut-off.
Standard 0.22 µm filtration does not retain mycoplasma-sized organisms (0.2–0.3 µm) or many subvisible particulates. FluxMPS™ uses four sequential stages (0.1 µm ×2 + 0.04 µm ×2) reaching a 0.04 µm final pore size, delivering approximately 5× cleaner media by particulate count per USP <788> Method 1.
This MEM base is formulated without sodium pyruvate and without sodium bicarbonate, relying on 25 mM HEPES for pH buffering. Cell types that require sodium pyruvate as an additional energy source, or bicarbonate-based buffering, can be supplemented directly before use; contact support@diagnocine.com for a custom formulation.
This formulation is HEPES-buffered and bicarbonate-free, reducing CO₂ dependence; validate CO₂ requirements per your specific cell line and application.
Yes. Supplement with FBS, growth factors, antibiotics, or other additives per standard practice. When adding serum or protein-containing supplements, filter using a 0.2 µm low-protein-binding PES or PVDF membrane; a 0.04 µm membrane is not suitable for serum-containing additions. Add supplements immediately before use.
Endotoxin is controlled per manufacturing batch rather than per unit. Every batch is tested before release by LAL assay (USP <85> Bacterial Endotoxins Test; assay sensitivity 0.005 EU/mL) and must meet the release specification of < 0.05 EU/mL. Certificate of Analysis available on request.
Yes. A lot-specific CoA is available for every shipment and includes: appearance, pH (USP <791>), osmolality (USP <785>), endotoxin (USP <85> BET), sterility (USP <71>), particulate matter (USP <788> Method 1), raw material traceability, manufacturing date, and authorized release signatures.
