Why FluxMPS™

Engineered where standard media fails

Conventional 0.22 µm-filtered media carry mycoplasma-sized particulates (0.2–0.3 µm), subvisible debris, and inconsistent endotoxin loads that accumulate inside microchannels — corrupting biosensor readings and shortening device lifetimes. FluxMPS™ is built to address these failure modes at the filtration stage.

filter_alt

Microchannel-safe purity

0.04 µm final filter retains particles down to sub-mycoplasma size; USP <788> Method 1 (light obscuration) particulate compliance verified per lot.

target

Total metabolic control

Defined low-glucose carbon source and precise nutrient concentrations support metabolic flux experiments and Warburg-pathway studies.

water_drop

Ultrapure-grade water

Prepared with Type 1 water (18.2 MΩ·cm resistivity), supporting low trace-metal and organic-carbon (TOC) background in the finished medium.

visibility

Low background for imaging

Quadruple-stage filtration keeps particulate baseline low, supporting confocal microscopy and live-cell biosensor work. Riboflavin, a native medium component, contributes native fluorescence to consider when designing fluorescence-based assays.

Purity Architecture

Quadruple-stage filtration system

FluxMPS™ Minimum Essential Medium (MEM), Low Glucose & 25mM HEPES w/o Sodium Pyruvate, Phenol Red: 1X Liquid is processed through a four-pass filtration train — two dedicated prefilter/final-filter pairs — reaching a 0.04 µm final cut-off, well beyond the 0.22 µm standard used across the industry.

  1. 1

    0.1 µm Prefiltration I

Removes large particulates, cell debris, and protein aggregates; protects the first 0.04 µm cartridge.

  2. 2

    0.04 µm Final filtration I

First 0.04 µm pass; retains sub-micron particulates and microaggregates that a 0.22 µm filter cannot capture.

  3. 3

    0.1 µm Prefiltration II

A second, dedicated prefilter protecting the second 0.04 µm cartridge — redundancy against carryover from the first pass.

  4. 4

0.04 µm Final filtration II — Polish

Ultimate polishing filter; aseptic fill & finish under ISO Class 5 laminar-flow conditions.

Performance vs. conventional media

Two prefilter/final-filter pairs in series reaching a 0.04 µm final cut-off provide a meaningfully cleaner particulate baseline than single-pass 0.22 µm filtration, with USP <788> Method 1 (light obscuration) particulate compliance verified on every lot.

µm final filter pore size — sub-mycoplasma polishing
Sterility assurance: Every lot undergoes 14-day USP <71> sterility testing. Mycoplasma risk is mitigated by 0.1 µm mycoplasma-retentive filtration; this is a filtration control, not a per-lot mycoplasma assay.
Grade: This product is Microfluidics Suitable, filtered to a 0.04 µm final cut-off. It is not an MPS Grade product — that designation is reserved for the 0.01 µm ultra nano-filtered line, which adds 0.02 µm and 0.01 µm stages after the 0.04 µm polish. For applications requiring the 0.01 µm cut-off, contact support@diagnocine.com.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about FluxMPS™ Minimum Essential Medium (MEM), Low Glucose & 25mM HEPES w/o Sodium Pyruvate, Phenol Red: 1X Liquid and Microfluidics Suitable cell culture media.

Yes. DCP-MEMH-PRN1X is processed through our Quadruple-stage filtration train (0.1 µm ×2 + 0.04 µm ×2), reaching a 0.04 µm final cut-off that helps reduce microchannel clogging risk in OoC and MPS devices. This product is Microfluidics Suitable; it is not the separate 0.01 µm MPS Grade line.
Standard 0.22 µm filtration does not retain mycoplasma-sized particles (0.2–0.3 µm). FluxMPS™ uses four sequential passes reaching 0.04 µm, with USP <788> Method 1 (light obscuration) particulate compliance verified on every lot.
This formulation is prepared without sodium pyruvate (useful where an alternate carbon/energy source or a defined supplementation scheme is preferred) and without phenol red (useful for assays sensitive to pH-indicator absorbance/fluorescence, such as certain imaging and biosensor workflows). Sodium pyruvate can be added back at the bench at standard working concentrations if required for your cell type. Contact support@diagnocine.com for a custom pre-formulated version.
This formulation is HEPES-buffered (25 mM), which reduces CO₂ dependency. Standard 5–10% CO₂ incubation remains compatible for closed-system culture.
Yes. FBS (5–20%), growth factors, antibiotics, and other additives can be added per standard practice. Serum and other protein-containing supplements should be filtered through a 0.2 µm low-protein-binding PES or PVDF membrane before addition — never through a 0.04 µm membrane, which will strip serum proteins and clog rapidly. Add supplements immediately before use.
Endotoxin is controlled per manufacturing batch by LAL assay per USP <85> BET (assay sensitivity 0.005 EU/mL). Every batch must meet the release specification of < 0.05 EU/mL before shipment. Lot-specific results are documented in the CoA, available from support@diagnocine.com.
Yes. A lot-specific CoA is available for every shipment and includes: appearance, pH (USP <791>), osmolality (USP <785>), endotoxin (USP <85> BET), sterility (USP <71>), particulate matter (USP <788> Method 1), raw material traceability, manufacturing date, and authorized release signatures.
