FluxMPS™ RPMI 1640 Medium, High Glucose w/o L-Glutamine, Sodium Bicarbonate: 1X Liquid
FluxMPS™ RPMI 1640 Medium, High Glucose w/o L-Glutamine, Sodium Bicarbonate: 1X Liquid is a Microfluidics Suitable, quadruple-stage ultra-filtered (0.1 µm ×2 + 0.04 µm ×2) 1X liquid cell culture medium engineered for organ-on-a-chip (OoC), tissue-on-a-chip (ToC), and microphysiological system (MPS) applications. A quadruple-stage train (0.1 µm ×2 + 0.04 µm ×2) reaches a 0.04 µm final cut-off, five times finer than the 0.22 µm membranes used for conventional sterile filtration.
- Quadruple-stage filtration: 0.1 µm (Prefiltration I & II) + 0.04 µm (Final filtration I & II — Polish), reaching a 0.04 µm final cut-off
- Endotoxin release specification: < 0.05 EU/mL (LAL assay, USP <85> BET), tested per manufacturing batch
- RPMI 1640 high-glucose base (4500 mg/L / 4.5 g/L) formulated without L-glutamine and without sodium bicarbonate — buffering and glutamine to be added at time of use
- Contains 110 mg/L sodium pyruvate and phenol red sodium salt (5.3 mg/L) as a visual pH indicator
- Prepared with Ultrapure Type 1 water (18.2 MΩ·cm); ISO Class 5 (Class 100) aseptic fill & finish
- Manufactured under an ISO 13485:2016 quality management system; final QC and packaging at Diagnocine, Totowa, NJ

Engineered where standard media fails
Conventional 0.22 µm-filtered media carry mycoplasma-sized particulates (0.2–0.3 µm), subvisible debris, and endotoxin variability that accumulate inside microchannels — corrupting biosensor readings and shortening device lifetimes. FluxMPS™ is built to reduce these failure modes at the filtration stage.
Microchannel-safe purity
0.04 µm final filter targets sub-mycoplasma-sized particulate; USP <788> Method 1 (light obscuration) particulate compliance verified per lot.
Total metabolic control
User-defined carbon source and precise nutrient concentrations for metabolic flux experiments and Warburg-related applications.
Ultrapure-grade water
Prepared with Type 1 water (18.2 MΩ·cm), meeting ASTM D1193 / ISO 3696 Type 1 standards, with tight trace-metal and organic-carbon (TOC) control.
Low background for imaging
Ultra-low particulate baseline supports confocal microscopy, live-cell biosensors, and TEER measurements without particulate interference.
Rich, stable nutrient profile
Micro-batch precision manufacturing locks in amino acid and vitamin concentrations, supporting lot-to-lot reproducibility for long-term perfusion studies.
Customization on demand
pH, glucose, salts, HEPES, and full nutrient composition available on request. Contact support@diagnocine.com.
Quadruple-stage filtration system
FluxMPS™ RPMI 1640 Medium, High Glucose w/o L-Glutamine, Sodium Bicarbonate: 1X Liquid is processed through a four-pass, paired prefilter + final-filter sequence reaching a 0.04 µm final cut-off — addressing mycoplasma-sized particulate and subvisible debris that a single 0.22 µm pass does not remove.
-
1
0.1 µm Prefiltration I
Removes large particulates and protein aggregates; protects the first 0.04 µm final filter cartridge.
-
2
0.04 µm Final filtration I
First 0.04 µm pass; retains sub-micron particulates and microaggregates that pass a 0.22 µm filter.
-
3
0.1 µm Prefiltration II
Second dedicated prefilter, protecting the second 0.04 µm final filter cartridge.
-
4
0.04 µm Final filtration II — Polish
Ultimate polishing filter; aseptic fill & finish in a validated ISO Class 5 laminar-flow workstation.
Performance vs. conventional media
Four sequential passes reaching 0.04 µm deliver approximately 5× cleaner media by particulate count compared to single-pass 0.22 µm filtration, with USP <788> Method 1 compliance verified on every lot.
