FluxMPS™ Dulbecco's Modified Eagle Medium (DMEM) w/o Glucose, L-Glutamine, Sodium Pyruvate, Phenol Red: 1X Liquid

Contains Sodium Bicarbonate Contains Calcium Contains Magnesium Without L-Glutamine Without Phenol Red Without Glucose Without Sodium Pyruvate

Microfluidics Suitable, quadruple-stage ultra-filtered (0.1 µm ×2 + 0.04 µm ×2) 1X liquid cell culture medium engineered for microfluidic channels, organ-on-a-chip (OoC), and microphysiological systems (MPS). Manufactured under ISO 13485:2016 in an ISO Class 5 fill environment using Ultrapure Type 1 water (18.2 MΩ·cm). A quadruple-stage train (0.1 µm ×2 + 0.04 µm ×2) reaches a 0.04 µm final cut-off, five times finer than the 0.22 µm membranes used for conventional sterile filtration.

  • Quadruple-stage filtration to a 0.04 µm final cut-off (0.1 µm ×2 + 0.04 µm ×2) — engineered for microfluidic channels and organ-on-a-chip (OoC) perfusion
  • Formulated without glucose, L-glutamine, sodium pyruvate and phenol red for full control of carbon source and assay background; sodium bicarbonate (3700 mg/L) retained as the buffering system
  • Batch-release endotoxin specification < 0.05 EU/mL (LAL, USP <85>)
  • Manufactured under an ISO 13485:2016 quality management system with micro-batch production at Diagnocine, Totowa, NJ
  • Prepared with Ultrapure Type 1 water (18.2 MΩ·cm) for low trace-metal and organic-carbon background
  • 4× BME amino acid and vitamin concentrations for extended, low-drift MPS/OoC perfusion runs
  • Custom pH, glucose reintroduction, HEPES, salts and nutrient levels available on request — support@diagnocine.com
Incomplete basal medium. This formulation contains no glucose and no sodium pyruvate. A carbon source, serum or defined supplements must be added before use. See the FAQ for supplementation guidance.

Why FluxMPS™

Engineered where standard media fails

Conventional 0.22 µm filtered media allows mycoplasma (0.2–0.3 µm), sub-visible particulates, and microaggregates to pass freely — clogging microchannels, corrupting biosensors, and invalidating metabolic assays. FluxMPS™ closes that gap.

filter_alt

Microchannel-safe purity

0.04 µm final filter and USP <788> Method 1 particulate compliance support consistent flow in narrow microfluidic channels.

target

Total metabolic control

Precisely defined carbon sources enable Warburg-effect studies, glycolysis inhibition, and 13C metabolic tracing without background noise.

water_drop

Ultrapure-grade water

Prepared with Ultrapure Type 1 water (18.2 MΩ·cm), controlled for trace metals and organic carbon (TOC) to support sensitive downstream assays.

Purity Architecture

Quadruple-stage filtration system

A validated four-stage sequential filtration train reaching a final pore size of 0.04 µm — engineered to capture particulates and bioburden that pass through conventional 0.22 µm filtration.

  1. 1

    0.1 µm Prefiltration I

Removes large particulates, cell debris, and protein aggregates. Protects the first 0.04 µm final filter and preserves microchannel chip geometries.

  2. 2

    0.04 µm Final filtration I

Retains fine particulates and mycoplasma-scale organisms (typical diameter 0.2–0.3 µm) — entirely absent from standard 0.22 µm media.

  3. 3

    0.1 µm Prefiltration II

A second dedicated prefilter protecting the second 0.04 µm final filter cartridge.

  4. 4

0.04 µm Final filtration II — Polish

Ultimate polishing filter; aseptic fill in an ISO Class 5 (Class 100) laminar-flow workstation.

Performance vs. conventional media

By internal comparison using USP <788> Method 1 (light obscuration), FluxMPS™ media show meaningfully fewer particles ≥10 µm than standard 0.22 µm filtered media, helping reduce the risk of channel occlusion during long-duration perfusion.

µm Final filter — sub-mycoplasma polishing
Sterility & Mycoplasma: 14-day USP <71> sterility tested per batch. Mycoplasma risk is mitigated through 0.1 µm and 0.04 µm mycoplasma-retentive filtration (not tested per lot). Typical mycoplasma diameter is 0.2–0.3 µm, above the 0.04 µm final cut-off.
Grade: This product is Microfluidics Suitable, filtered to a 0.04 µm final cut-off. It is not an MPS Grade product — that designation is reserved for the 0.01 µm ultra nano-filtered line, which adds 0.02 µm and 0.01 µm stages after the 0.04 µm polish. For applications requiring the 0.01 µm cut-off, contact support@diagnocine.com.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about FluxMPS™ Dulbecco's Modified Eagle Medium (DMEM) w/o Glucose, L-Glutamine, Sodium Pyruvate, Phenol Red: 1X Liquid (DCP-DMEM-GQPR1X).

Yes. DCP-DMEM-GQPR1X is Microfluidics Suitable, filtered through a quadruple-stage train to a 0.04 µm final cut-off. This removes mycoplasma-scale organisms and sub-micron particulates that can cause microchannel clogging in standard 0.22 µm media.
Four sequential stages (0.1 µm ×2 + 0.04 µm ×2) target particulates and bioburden that pass through conventional 0.22 µm filters. By internal comparison using USP <788> Method 1 (light obscuration), FluxMPS™ media show meaningfully fewer particles ≥10 µm than standard 0.22 µm filtered media.
This formulation is prepared without glucose, L-glutamine, sodium pyruvate, and phenol red to enable precise metabolic control — including Warburg-effect studies, glycolysis inhibition, and 13C carbon-source tracing — while retaining sodium bicarbonate buffering. Add D-glucose at your desired concentration, or substitute galactose or pyruvate, and reintroduce L-glutamine or a stable dipeptide substitute as needed. Contact support@diagnocine.com for pre-supplemented variants.
Yes. This formulation contains 3700 mg/L sodium bicarbonate, which requires approximately 10% CO2/90% air to maintain physiological pH 7.4 (validate for your specific incubator and application). For CO2-independent use, add HEPES or request a bicarbonate-free variant.
Yes. This basal medium is compatible with FBS, human serum, growth factors, and antibiotics. Pre-filter serum-containing or protein-containing additions through a 0.2 µm low-protein-binding PES or PVDF filter before combining. Defined, protein-free additions may be pre-filtered at 0.1 µm. Do not use a 0.04 µm filter for supplements — it will strip serum proteins and clog rapidly.
Endotoxin is controlled per manufacturing batch. Every batch is tested by LAL assay (USP <85> Bacterial Endotoxins Test; assay sensitivity 0.005 EU/mL) and must meet the release specification of < 0.05 EU/mL before release. Batch-specific results are available on the Certificate of Analysis — request at support@diagnocine.com.
Yes — a full CoA per batch includes: lot number, expiry, appearance, pH (USP <791>), osmolality (USP <785>), endotoxin (USP <85>), sterility (USP <71>), and mycoplasma-retentive filtration status. Email support@diagnocine.com.
