Why FluxMPS™

Engineered where standard media fails

Conventional 0.22 µm filtered media allows mycoplasma (typical diameter 0.2–0.3 µm), sub-visible particulates, and microaggregates to pass freely — clogging microchannels, corrupting biosensors, and confounding metabolic assays. FluxMPS™ closes that gap.

filter_alt

Microchannel-safe purity

0.04 µm final filtration and USP <788> Method 1 particulate compliance minimize particulate load that can obstruct narrow microfluidic channels.

Total metabolic control

Precisely defined carbon and energy sources enable Warburg-effect studies, glycolysis inhibition, and ¹³C metabolic tracing.

Purity Architecture

Quadruple-stage filtration system

A validated four-stage sequential filtration train reaching a final pore size of 0.04 µm — addressing particulate and mycoplasma-range material that a standard 0.22 µm filter does not retain.

  1. 1

    0.1 µm Prefiltration I

Removes large particulates, cell debris, and protein aggregates. Protects the first 0.04 µm final filter cartridge.

  2. 2

    0.04 µm Final filtration I

First 0.04 µm pass; retains sub-micron particulates and microaggregates, including mycoplasma-range material (typical diameter 0.2–0.3 µm), that a 0.22 µm filter allows through.

  3. 3

    0.1 µm Prefiltration II

Second dedicated prefilter, protecting the second 0.04 µm final filter cartridge for full redundancy.

  4. 4

0.04 µm Final filtration II — Polish

Ultimate polishing filter; aseptic fill and finish in a validated ISO Class 5 (Class 100) laminar-flow workstation.

Performance vs. conventional media

By USP <788> Method 1 (light obscuration), FluxMPS™ trends meaningfully lower in particle counts ≥10 µm compared with standard 0.22 µm filtered media — supporting long-duration perfusion with reduced risk of channel occlusion.

Sterility & Mycoplasma: 14-day USP <71> sterility tested per lot. Mycoplasma control (typical diameter 0.2–0.3 µm) is achieved by validated 0.1 µm mycoplasma-retentive filtration; not independently tested per lot via USP <63>.
Grade: This product is Microfluidics Suitable, filtered to a 0.04 µm final cut-off. It is not an MPS Grade product — that designation is reserved for the 0.01 µm ultra nano-filtered line, which adds 0.02 µm and 0.01 µm stages after the 0.04 µm polish. For applications requiring the 0.01 µm cut-off, contact support@diagnocine.com.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about FluxMPS™ Dulbecco's Modified Eagle Medium (DMEM) w/o Glucose, L-Glutamine, Sodium Bicarbonate, Phenol Red: 1X Liquid (DCP-DMEM-GQBR1X).

Yes. DCP-DMEM-GQBR1X is Microfluidics Suitable and engineered for organ-on-a-chip, microfluidic, and MPS applications. The 0.04 µm final filtration reduces mycoplasma-range material and sub-micron particulates that can clog microchannels.
Four sequential stages (0.1 µm ×2 + 0.04 µm ×2) target particulates and mycoplasma-range material (typical diameter 0.2–0.3 µm) that a conventional 0.22 µm filter does not retain, trending toward lower particle counts by USP <788> Method 1 (light obscuration).
This formulation is provided without glucose, L-glutamine, sodium bicarbonate, and phenol red to give you full control over carbon source, nitrogen source, buffering system, and optical background. It already contains 110 mg/L sodium pyruvate as an alternative energy substrate. Add D-glucose or D-galactose at your target concentration (typically 1–4.5 g/L) for glycolytic studies, add L-glutamine or a stabilized dipeptide (e.g., GlutaMAX) per your cell line's requirement, and add 10–25 mM HEPES for CO₂-independent buffering. Contact support@diagnocine.com for pre-supplemented variants.
No. This formulation does not contain sodium bicarbonate and is suitable for CO₂-independent incubation. For extended culture outside a CO₂ incubator, we recommend adding 10–25 mM HEPES for optimal pH stability. CO₂-independent variants with pre-added HEPES are also available on request.
Yes. This basal medium is compatible with FBS (2–10%), human serum, GlutaMAX, growth factors (EGF, FGF, VEGF), and antibiotics. Pre-filter serum-containing or protein-containing additions through a 0.2 µm low-protein-binding PES or PVDF filter before combining; defined, protein-free additions may be filtered at 0.1 µm. Do not use a 0.04 µm filter for supplements — it will retain much of the protein and lipoprotein fraction of serum.
Every batch is tested and released against a specification of < 0.05 EU/mL, measured by LAL assay per USP <85> Bacterial Endotoxins Test (assay sensitivity 0.005 EU/mL). Endotoxin is controlled per manufacturing batch; batch-specific results are reported on the Certificate of Analysis. Request a CoA at support@diagnocine.com.
Yes — a full CoA per lot includes: lot number, expiry, appearance, pH (USP <791>), osmolality (USP <785>), endotoxin (USP <85>), sterility (USP <71>), mycoplasma filtration status, particulate count (USP <788> Method 1), and cultural response. Email support@diagnocine.com.
