FluxMPS™ Dulbecco's Modified Eagle Medium (DMEM), High Glucose w/o Sodium Bicarbonate and Phenol Red: 1X Liquid

Contains High Glucose Contains L-Glutamine Contains Sodium Pyruvate Contains Calcium Contains Magnesium Without Sodium Bicarbonate Without Phenol Red

FluxMPS™ DCP-DMEM-BR1X is a Microfluidics Suitable, quadruple-stage ultra-filtered (0.1 µm ×2 + 0.04 µm ×2) DMEM High Glucose (4.5 g/L) formulation engineered for organ-on-a-chip (OoC), microphysiological systems (MPS), and energy-demanding cell models. A quadruple-stage train (0.1 µm ×2 + 0.04 µm ×2) reaches a 0.04 µm final cut-off, five times finer than the 0.22 µm membranes used for conventional sterile filtration. Formulation: [+] High Glucose (4500 mg/L), [+] L-Glutamine, [+] Sodium Pyruvate, [+] Calcium, [+] Magnesium | [-] Sodium Bicarbonate, [-] Phenol Red.

Why FluxMPS™

Engineered where standard media fails

Conventional 0.22 µm–filtered DMEM passes mycoplasma-sized organisms, subvisible particulates, and cellular debris that clog microfluidic channels and interfere with sensor signals. FluxMPS™ High Glucose addresses these failure modes while delivering 4.5 g/L glucose for energy-demanding cell types and complex tissue models.

High-energy cell support

4.5 g/L glucose (4× vs. low-glucose DMEM) sustains primary neurons, cardiomyocytes, cancer lines, and other aerobically active cells in prolonged perfusion.

Purity Architecture

Quadruple-stage filtration system

Four serial filtration stages reaching a final 0.04 µm polish, run as two dedicated prefilter + final-filter pairs, deliver sub-mycoplasma particulate control unavailable from conventional single-stage 0.22 µm filtered media.

  1. 1

0.1 µm Prefiltration I — Large Particulate Removal

Removes large aggregates, cell debris, and protein aggregates; retains organisms in the mycoplasma size range (0.2–0.3 µm) and protects the first 0.04 µm cartridge from early fouling.

  2. 2

    0.04 µm Final filtration I

Retains sub-micron particulates and microaggregates that pass a standard 0.22 µm filter.

  3. 3

0.1 µm Prefiltration II — Redundant Barrier

Second dedicated prefilter, providing full-train redundancy and protecting the second 0.04 µm cartridge.

  4. 4

0.04 µm Final filtration II — Polish

Ultimate polishing filter; aseptic fill under ISO Class 5 (Class 100) conditions.

Sterility & Mycoplasma: No growth after 14-day incubation (USP <71>). Mycoplasma is controlled via 0.1 µm mycoplasma-retentive filtration (not tested per lot); mycoplasma organisms are typically 0.2–0.3 µm in diameter.
Grade: This product is Microfluidics Suitable, filtered to a 0.04 µm final cut-off. It is not an MPS Grade product — that designation is reserved for the 0.01 µm ultra nano-filtered line, which adds 0.02 µm and 0.01 µm stages after the 0.04 µm polish. FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about FluxMPS™ DCP-DMEM-BR1X DMEM High Glucose.

Yes. DCP-DMEM-BR1X is processed through a Quadruple-stage filtration system reaching a 0.04 µm final pore size, delivering ultra-low particulate levels for MPS, OoC, ToC, and LoC platforms. High glucose (4.5 g/L) makes it well suited to energy-demanding cell types including primary neurons, cardiomyocytes, and cancer cell lines in long-duration chip perfusion.

Sodium bicarbonate is excluded so pH can be controlled independently of a 5% CO2 atmosphere; phenol red is excluded to remove its intrinsic absorbance/fluorescence signal. This produces a CO2-independent, low-background medium ideal for open-top fluorescence-detection chips. For atmospheric or open-top incubation, supplement with HEPES (10–25 mM) or another organic buffer for pH control.
No. This formulation is CO2-independent because it contains no sodium bicarbonate; use HEPES or another organic buffer for pH control.
Yes. Add FBS (typically 5–10%), serum-free supplements, growth factors, antibiotics, or custom nutrients as required. When filtering serum or protein-containing additions, use a 0.2 µm low-protein-binding PES or PVDF filter — never 0.04 µm, which retains IgM, VLDL, chylomicrons, and much of the lipid/lipoprotein fraction of serum. Contact support@diagnocine.com for custom co-formulation.
Endotoxin is controlled per manufacturing batch, not per unit. Each batch is tested by LAL assay (USP <85>, assay sensitivity 0.005 EU/mL) prior to release and must meet the release specification of < 0.05 EU/mL. A Certificate of Analysis confirming the result is available for every lot on request.
Yes. A full CoA per lot covers: appearance, pH (USP <791>), osmolality (USP <785>), sterility (USP <71>), endotoxin (USP <85>), mycoplasma filtration control, particulate count (USP <788> Method 1), and raw-material traceability. Request at support@diagnocine.com.
