FluxMPS™ Dulbecco’s Modified Eagle Medium (DMEM), High Glucose w/o Sodium Pyruvate, Phenol Red: 1X Liquid

Contains L-Glutamine Contains Sodium Bicarbonate Contains Calcium Contains Magnesium Contains High Glucose (4500 mg/L) Without Phenol Red Without Sodium Pyruvate

FluxMPS™ DCP-DMEM-PR1X is a Microfluidics Suitable, quadruple-stage ultra-filtered (0.1 µm ×2 + 0.04 µm ×2) High Glucose (4.5 g/L) DMEM formulated without sodium pyruvate and without phenol red, engineered for organ-on-a-chip (OoC), microphysiological systems (MPS), and energy-demanding cell models. A quadruple-stage train (0.1 µm ×2 + 0.04 µm ×2) reaches a 0.04 µm final cut-off, five times finer than the 0.22 µm membranes used for conventional sterile filtration.

  • High Glucose (4.5 g/L) formulation supports energy-demanding cell types — primary neurons, cardiomyocytes, and cancer cell lines
  • Formulated without sodium pyruvate and without phenol red for precise metabolic control and low-background live-cell imaging
  • Quadruple-stage filtration train (0.1 µm → 0.04 µm → 0.1 µm → 0.04 µm) reaching a 0.04 µm final cut-off
  • Endotoxin release specification < 0.05 EU/mL (LAL, USP <85>), tested per manufacturing batch
  • Manufactured under an ISO 13485:2016 quality management system; final QC at Diagnocine, Totowa, NJ
  • Contains 3700 mg/L (44 mM) sodium bicarbonate buffer — requires approximately 10% CO2 to maintain pH 7.4
  • Osmolality 320–360 mOsm/kg H2O (freezing-point osmometry, USP <785>)
  • Custom pH, glucose concentration, salts, HEPES, and nutrient adjustments available on request

Why FluxMPS™

Engineered where standard media fails

Conventional 0.22 µm–filtered DMEM passes mycoplasma-sized organisms, subvisible particulates, and endotoxin fragments that clog microfluidic channels and corrupt sensor signals. FluxMPS™ High Glucose addresses these failure modes while delivering 4.5 g/L glucose for energy-demanding cell types and complex tissue models.

filter_alt

Microchannel-safe purity

0.04 µm final filtration; USP <788> particulate compliance supports safe perfusion in narrow chip geometries, including sub-100 µm channels.

High-energy cell support

4.5 g/L glucose (4× vs low-glucose DMEM) sustains primary neurons, cardiomyocytes, cancer lines, and other aerobically active cells in prolonged perfusion.

Purity Architecture

Quadruple-stage filtration system

Four serial filtration stages — two prefilter/final-filter pairs — reach a final 0.04 µm polish, delivering particulate purity levels not achieved by standard 0.22 µm filtration.

  1. 1

    0.1 µm Prefiltration I

Removes large aggregates and cell debris; protects the first 0.04 µm cartridge from early fouling.

  2. 2

    0.04 µm Final filtration I

First 0.04 µm pass; retains mycoplasma-sized organisms (0.2–0.3 µm) and sub-micron particulates that pass a 0.22 µm filter.

  3. 3

    0.1 µm Prefiltration II

Second dedicated prefilter, protecting the second 0.04 µm cartridge for full redundancy.

  4. 4

0.04 µm Final filtration II — Polish

Ultimate polishing filter; aseptic fill in ISO Class 5 (Class 100) laminar-flow conditions.

Grade: This product is Microfluidics Suitable, filtered to a 0.04 µm final cut-off. It is not an MPS Grade product — that designation is reserved for the 0.01 µm ultra nano-filtered line, which adds 0.02 µm and 0.01 µm stages after the 0.04 µm polish. FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about FluxMPS™ DCP-DMEM-PR1X DMEM High Glucose.

Yes. DCP-DMEM-PR1X is Microfluidics Suitable, processed through a Quadruple-stage filtration system reaching a 0.04 µm final pore size, delivering ultra-low particulate levels for MPS, OoC, ToC, and LoC platforms. High glucose (4.5 g/L) makes it well suited for energy-demanding cell types including primary neurons, cardiomyocytes, and cancer cell lines in long-duration chip perfusion.

Phenol red is excluded to reduce autofluorescence and estrogenic activity for imaging and endocrine-sensitive assays; sodium pyruvate is excluded so researchers can supplement it fresh at a precise concentration (typically 1 mM). Neither is present in the composition table. Contact support@diagnocine.com for guidance on your cell type.
Yes. This formulation contains 3700 mg/L (44 mM) sodium bicarbonate, which requires approximately 10% CO2 in a humidified incubator to maintain pH 7.4. For open-top chip or atmospheric-CO2 applications, a HEPES-buffered variant is available on request.
Yes. Serum, growth factors, and other protein-containing additions should be filtered through a 0.2 µm low-protein-binding PES or PVDF membrane before addition; do not use a 0.04 µm membrane for serum or protein-containing supplements, as it will strip serum components and clog rapidly. Contact support@diagnocine.com for custom co-formulation.
Endotoxin is controlled per manufacturing batch. Every batch is tested by LAL assay (USP <85>, assay sensitivity 0.005 EU/mL) before release and must meet the release specification of < 0.05 EU/mL. A Certificate of Analysis showing the batch result is available on request.
Yes. A full CoA per lot covers: appearance, pH (USP <791>), osmolality (USP <785>), sterility (USP <71>), endotoxin (USP <85>), mycoplasma filtration status, particulate count (USP <788> Method 1), and raw-material traceability. Request at support@diagnocine.com.
