FluxMPS™ Dulbecco's Modified Eagle Medium (DMEM) w/o Glucose, Sodium Pyruvate: 1X Liquid

Contains L-Glutamine Contains Sodium Bicarbonate Contains Phenol Red Contains Calcium Contains Magnesium Without Glucose Without Sodium Pyruvate

Microfluidics Suitable, quadruple-stage ultra-filtered (0.1 µm ×2 + 0.04 µm ×2) 1X liquid cell culture medium engineered for microfluidic channels, organ-on-a-chip (OoC), and microphysiological systems (MPS). A quadruple-stage train (0.1 µm ×2 + 0.04 µm ×2) reaches a 0.04 µm final cut-off, five times finer than the 0.22 µm membranes used for conventional sterile filtration.

  • Quadruple-stage 0.04 µm final filtration train (0.1 µm ×2 + 0.04 µm ×2) — a validated four-pass sterile filtration process
  • Endotoxin release specification: < 0.05 EU/mL (USP <85> BET)
  • Glucose- and sodium pyruvate-free formulation for precise metabolic control — Warburg effect, ¹³C tracing, and glycolysis-inhibition studies
  • Contains L-glutamine (584 mg/L), sodium bicarbonate (3700 mg/L), and phenol red (15.9 mg/L) — bicarbonate-buffered, requires an elevated CO₂ atmosphere
  • Manufactured under an ISO 13485:2016 quality management system; final QC and customization at Diagnocine, Totowa, NJ
  • 4× BME amino acid and vitamin concentrations for robust long-duration MPS perfusion
  • Custom pH, glucose, HEPES, salts & nutrients available — support@diagnocine.com
Incomplete basal medium. This formulation contains no glucose and no sodium pyruvate. A carbon source, serum, or defined supplements must be added before use. See the FAQ for supplementation guidance.

Why FluxMPS™

Engineered where standard media fails

Conventional 0.22 µm filtered media allows mycoplasma (0.2–0.3 µm), sub-visible particulates, and microaggregates to pass freely — risking microchannel occlusion, biosensor interference, and metabolic assay variability. FluxMPS™ closes that gap.

Purity Architecture

Quadruple-stage filtration system

A validated four-stage sequential filtration train reaching a final pore size of 0.04 µm — substantially beyond what 0.22 µm filtration captures.

  1. 1

    0.1 µm Prefiltration I

Removes large particulates, cell debris, and protein aggregates. Protects the first 0.04 µm final filter cartridge and preserves microchannel chip geometries downstream.

  2. 2

    0.04 µm Final filtration I

First 0.04 µm pass; retains sub-micron particulates and microaggregates not captured by a conventional 0.22 µm filter.

  3. 3

    0.1 µm Prefiltration II

Second dedicated prefilter, protecting the second 0.04 µm final filter cartridge for full-train redundancy.

  4. 4

0.04 µm Final filtration II — Polish

Ultimate polishing filter; aseptic fill in a validated ISO Class 5 (Class 100) laminar-flow workstation.

Sterility & Mycoplasma: 14-day USP <71> sterility tested per lot. Mycoplasma risk is mitigated by the 0.1 µm and 0.04 µm filtration train (not tested per lot per USP <63>). Typical mycoplasma diameter is 0.2–0.3 µm.
Grade: This product is Microfluidics Suitable, filtered to a 0.04 µm final cut-off. It is not an MPS Grade product — that designation is reserved for the 0.01 µm ultra nano-filtered line, which adds 0.02 µm and 0.01 µm stages after the 0.04 µm polish. For applications requiring the 0.01 µm cut-off, contact support@diagnocine.com.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about FluxMPS™ Dulbecco's Modified Eagle Medium (DMEM) w/o Glucose, Sodium Pyruvate: 1X Liquid (DCP-DMEM-GP1X).

Yes. DCP-DMEM-GP1X is engineered for organ-on-a-chip, microfluidic, and MPS applications. The 0.04 µm final filtration removes sub-micron particulates that can cause microchannel clogging in standard 0.22 µm media, and the product is classified Microfluidics Suitable.
Four sequential stages (0.1 µm ×2 + 0.04 µm ×2) retain sub-visible particulates and bioburden not captured by conventional 0.22 µm filters, delivering approximately 5× fewer particles ≥10 µm by USP <788> Method 1 (light obscuration) versus standard media.
DCP-DMEM-GP1X is formulated without glucose or sodium pyruvate to enable precise metabolic control — including Warburg-effect studies, glycolysis inhibition, and ¹³C carbon-source tracing. Add D-glucose at your desired concentration (typically 1–4.5 g/L) or substitute galactose or sodium pyruvate depending on your assay. This medium already contains L-glutamine (584 mg/L), so no further glutamine supplementation is needed. Contact support@diagnocine.com for pre-supplemented variants.
Yes — DCP-DMEM-GP1X contains sodium bicarbonate (3700 mg/L) and requires a 10% CO₂ incubator to maintain physiological pH 7.4. For CO₂-independent use, add 10–25 mM HEPES or request the bicarbonate-free/HEPES-buffered variant.
DCP-DMEM-GP1X is a basal medium compatible with FBS (2–10%), human serum, EGF, FGF, VEGF, and antibiotics. Pre-filter serum and protein-containing additions through a 0.2 µm low-protein-binding PES or PVDF filter before combining; use a 0.1 µm filter only for defined, protein-free additions.
Endotoxin is controlled per manufacturing batch. Every batch is tested before release and must meet the release specification of < 0.05 EU/mL by LAL assay (USP <85> Bacterial Endotoxins Test; assay sensitivity 0.005 EU/mL). The lot-specific result is reported on the Certificate of Analysis, available at support@diagnocine.com.
Yes — a full CoA per lot includes: lot number, expiry (12 months from manufacture, unopened), appearance, pH (USP <791>), osmolality (USP <785>), endotoxin (USP <85>), sterility (USP <71>), and particulate count (USP <788>). Email support@diagnocine.com.
