FluxMPS™ Waymouth Medium: 1X Liquid
FluxMPS™ DCP-WMBM1X is a Microfluidics Suitable, quadruple-stage ultra-filtered Waymouth Medium MB 752/1 formulation engineered for mammalian cell culture — including fibroblast, hybridoma and myeloma models — on organ-on-a-chip (OoC) and microphysiological system (MPS) platforms. A quadruple-stage train (0.1 µm ×2 + 0.04 µm ×2) reaches a 0.04 µm final cut-off, five times finer than the 0.22 µm membranes used for conventional sterile filtration. Formulation: [+] L-Glutamine, [+] Sodium Bicarbonate, [+] Phenol Red, [+] Calcium, [+] Magnesium, [+] Glucose (5 g/L).
- Waymouth Medium MB 752/1 formulation with 5000 mg/L (5.0 g/L) D-glucose as the carbon source
- Glutathione (reduced), 15 mg/L — supports antioxidant/redox balance in fibroblast and hybridoma clonal growth
- L-Glutamine (350 mg/L) and sodium bicarbonate (2240 mg/L) buffering system
- Quadruple-stage filtration train: 0.1 µm ×2 + 0.04 µm ×2, reaching a 0.04 µm final cut-off
- Endotoxin release specification: < 0.05 EU/mL (LAL, USP <85>)
- Manufactured under an ISO 13485:2016 quality management system; final QA at Diagnocine, Totowa, NJ

Engineered where standard media fails
Conventional 0.22 µm–filtered Waymouth Medium passes mycoplasma, subvisible particulates, and clumped debris that clog microfluidic channels and confound optical/electrical readouts. FluxMPS™ is built for these failure modes.
Microchannel-safe purity
0.04 µm final filtration with USP <788> Method 1 (light obscuration) particulate compliance — formulated for safe perfusion across chip geometries.
Total metabolic control
5 g/L D-glucose carbon source plus reduced glutathione give you a defined, adjustable metabolic starting point for clonal and hybridoma growth studies.
Ultrapure-grade water
Ultrapure Type 1 water (18.2 MΩ·cm) supports low trace-metal and organic-carbon (TOC) background for sensitive cell culture formulations.
Low background for imaging
Quadruple-stage filtration lowers the particulate baseline for confocal and biosensor work. Note: this formulation contains phenol red sodium salt (11 mg/L) and is therefore not suited to phenol-red–sensitive fluorescence assays — a phenol-red–free custom formulation is available on request.
Rich, stable nutrient profile
Waymouth Medium MB 752/1 carries a full complement of amino acids, vitamins, and glutathione, released per micro-batch lot.
Customization on demand
pH, nutrient concentrations, HEPES, and component modifications available. Contact support@diagnocine.com.
Quadruple-stage filtration system
Four serial filtration stages — two dedicated prefilter + final-filter pairs — reaching a final 0.04 µm polish.
-
1
0.1 µm Prefiltration I — Large Particulate & Debris Removal
Removes large aggregates and cell debris; protects the first 0.04 µm final-filter cartridge.
-
2
0.04 µm Final Filtration I — Mycoplasma-Retentive Barrier
Retains particulates and organisms in the mycoplasma size range (0.2–0.3 µm), well below the 0.22 µm rating of conventional sterile filters.
-
3
0.1 µm Prefiltration II — Second Cartridge Protection
A second, dedicated 0.1 µm prefilter protects the second 0.04 µm cartridge downstream.
-
4
0.04 µm Final Filtration II — Polish & Aseptic Fill
Final 0.04 µm polishing pass followed by aseptic fill & finish under ISO Class 5 (Class 100) conditions.
Performance vs. conventional media
FluxMPS™ DCP-WMBM1X is filtered through two dedicated 0.1 µm + 0.04 µm pairs in series, reaching a 0.04 µm final cut-off — five times finer than the 0.22 µm membranes used in conventional Waymouth Medium filtration.
