- World’s cleanest RNase-safe buffer for RNA handling, cell, and molecular biology experiments
Description:
PVSA-TE, 1X is a ready-to-use, high-purity Tris–EDTA buffer formulated to be RNase-safe for sensitive RNA and DNA workflows. It is supplemented with polyvinylsulfonic acid (PVSA), a potent polymeric RNase inhibitor that helps preserve RNA integrity during sample handling, resuspension, and short-term storage. The buffer provides the low-ionic-strength environment and chelating capacity characteristic of 1X TE, making it suitable for use with purified nucleic acids, RNA-containing samples, and cells in downstream molecular biology applications.
Applications:
- RNA and DNA Resuspension: Resuspension and dilution of RNA and DNA samples in an RNase-safe, low-salt buffer for storage or downstream processing.
- RNA Handling and Short-Term Storage: Temporary storage of RNA-containing samples, cells, or lysates with added RNase protection in TE buffer.
- Enzyme-Sensitive Workflows: Handling, transfer, and brief incubations of nucleic acids in workflows where divalent-cation–dependent nucleases must be minimized.
- Probe and Oligo Preparation: Dilution and handling of RNA and DNA oligonucleotides, probes, and standards in a nuclease-controlled environment.
- General Molecular Biology: Any procedure requiring 1X TE with enhanced RNA protection, including sample prep steps prior to qPCR, RT, or library construction (as compatible with the specific enzymes used).
Advantages:
- RNase-Safe: PVSA provides robust inhibition of a wide range of RNases, enhancing RNA protection without relying solely on protein-based inhibitors.
- High Purity: Prepared from molecular biology-grade Tris, EDTA, and PVSA, and filtered to reduce particulates, microbes, and adventitious nucleases.
- Nucleic Acid Friendly: Low ionic strength and EDTA chelation support nucleic acid stability while limiting divalent-cation–dependent nuclease activity.
- Versatile Buffer System: TE-based formulation is compatible with many standard nucleic acid handling and storage protocols.
- Ready-to-Use 1X Solution: Supplied at working strength to reduce preparation time and contamination risk.

All DiagnoCine Precision Sterile buffers are filtered-sterilized with a 0.1-micron filtration and 0.04-micron filtration twice. Thus, mycoplasma contamination is prevented. The smallest size mycoplasma type can be about 0.2 microns.
