Recombinant Firefly Luciferase
Cat. No.: SB-G3404-1ML
Size: 1ML
Description
This product, Recombinant Firefly Luciferase, is a luciferase derived from North American firefly ( Photinus pyralis ) expressed recombinantly in Escherichia coli , with a molecular weight of about 62 kDa. The enzyme requires ATP, molecular oxygen, and the heterocyclic compound luciferin to generate light in a two-step reaction. Luciferase is widely used in molecular and cell biology. It is mainly used to detect and quantify ATP with bioluminescent reagents or as a necessary raw material for luciferase research and kit production with luciferin as a substrate.
- Definition of enzyme activity: at 20-25°C, the amount of enzyme required to produce a relative light unit (RLU) within 10 s is defined as an enzyme activity unit.
- Purity and concentration: SDS-PAGE detection purity ≥ 95%, 1 mg/mL.
- Enzyme Storage Buffer: 20 mM Tris-HCl, 1 mM DTT, 50% glycerol, pH 8.0.
Storage and transportation
Transport in wet ice packs; store at -20°C, valid for 12 months.

Precautions
1. Enzyme products should be placed in an ice box or on an ice bath when used, divided for use, and stored at -20°C immediately after use.
2. If the enzyme needs to be diluted, it is recommended to use the enzyme storage buffer for dilution.
3. For your safety and health, please wear a lab coat and disposable gloves for operation.
