Why FluxMPS™

Engineered where standard media fails

Conventional 0.22 µm-filtered media carry mycoplasma-sized particulates (0.2–0.3 µm), subvisible debris, and endotoxin variability that accumulate inside microchannels — risking biosensor interference and shortened device lifetimes. FluxMPS™ is built to a finer specification at every stage.

filter_alt

Microchannel-safe purity

A 0.04 µm final filter retains particles down to sub-mycoplasma size; USP <788> Method 1 (light obscuration) particulate compliance confirmed on every lot.

target

Total metabolic control

A high-glucose (4500 mg/L) formulation with defined L-glutamine supports precise metabolic flux and Warburg-oriented experiments.

water_drop

Ultrapure-grade water

Prepared with Type 1 water (18.2 MΩ·cm), controlled for trace metals and total organic carbon (TOC) to minimize non-biological background.

visibility

Low background for imaging

Ultra-low particulate baseline from quadruple-stage filtration supports confocal microscopy, live-cell biosensors, and TEER measurements without particulate-driven signal artifacts.

science

Rich, stable nutrient profile

Micro-batch precision manufacturing locks in amino acid and vitamin concentrations, supporting lot-to-lot reproducibility for long-term perfusion studies.

Purity Architecture

Quadruple-stage filtration system

FluxMPS™ RPMI 1640 Medium, High Glucose w/o Sodium Pyruvate, Phenol Red: 1X Liquid is processed through a validated four-pass filtration train — two dedicated prefilter + final-filter pairs — reaching a 0.04 µm final cut-off, addressing mycoplasma-sized and subvisible particulates that 0.22 µm filtration cannot.

  1. 1

    0.1 µm Prefiltration I

Removes large particulates, cell debris, and protein aggregates; protects the first 0.04 µm cartridge.

  2. 2

    0.04 µm Final filtration I

First 0.04 µm pass; retains sub-micron particulates and microaggregates that pass a 0.22 µm filter.

  3. 3

    0.1 µm Prefiltration II

A second, dedicated prefilter protecting the second 0.04 µm cartridge — not a polish of Stage 2's effluent.

  4. 4

0.04 µm Final filtration II — Polish

Ultimate polishing filter; aseptic fill & finish in a validated ISO Class 5 laminar-flow workstation.

Performance vs. conventional media

A quadruple-stage train (0.1 µm ×2 + 0.04 µm ×2) reaches a 0.04 µm final cut-off, five times finer than the 0.22 µm membranes used for conventional sterile filtration, with USP <788> Method 1 (light obscuration) particulate compliance confirmed on every lot.

Sterility assurance: Every lot undergoes 14-day USP <71> sterility testing. Mycoplasma risk is controlled by 0.1 µm final-stage filtration; lots are not individually tested to USP <63>.
Grade: This product is Microfluidics Suitable, filtered to a 0.04 µm final cut-off. It is not an MPS Grade product — that designation is reserved for the 0.01 µm ultra nano-filtered line, which adds 0.02 µm and 0.01 µm stages after the 0.04 µm polish. For applications requiring the 0.01 µm cut-off, contact support@diagnocine.com.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about FluxMPS™ RPMI 1640 Medium, High Glucose w/o Sodium Pyruvate, Phenol Red: 1X Liquid.

Yes. DCP-RPMIG-PR1X uses our quadruple-stage filtration (0.1 µm ×2 + 0.04 µm ×2), reaching a 0.04 µm final cut-off that supports microchannel patency in OoC and MPS devices. This product is Microfluidics Suitable.
Standard 0.22 µm filtration does not retain mycoplasma-sized organisms (0.2–0.3 µm). FluxMPS™ runs a four-pass train — two paired 0.1 µm prefilter + 0.04 µm final-filter stages — reaching a 0.04 µm final cut-off, five times finer than a 0.22 µm membrane, with USP <788> Method 1 particulate compliance confirmed on every lot.
This RPMI 1640 base is formulated without sodium pyruvate and without phenol red to support applications sensitive to pyruvate metabolism or phenol red interference (e.g., certain metabolic and optical assays). Sodium pyruvate can be added back at the standard 1 mM (110 mg/L) if your protocol requires it; contact support@diagnocine.com for custom reformulation.
Yes. This formulation contains 2000 mg/L sodium bicarbonate, which calculates to approximately 5% CO₂ to maintain a physiological pH of 7.4. Validate the CO₂ setpoint for your specific incubator and cell line.
Yes. FluxMPS™ RPMI 1640 Medium, High Glucose w/o Sodium Pyruvate, Phenol Red: 1X Liquid can be supplemented with FBS, growth factors, antibiotics, or other additives per standard practice. When adding serum or protein-containing supplements, pre-filter through a 0.2 µm low-protein-binding PES or PVDF membrane; do not use 0.04 µm filters for serum-containing additions, as they will strip essential lipoproteins and growth factors. Add supplements immediately before use.
Endotoxin is controlled per manufacturing batch by LAL assay per USP <85> Bacterial Endotoxins Test (assay sensitivity 0.005 EU/mL). Release specification: < 0.05 EU/mL. Batch-specific results are documented in the Certificate of Analysis, available from support@diagnocine.com.
Yes. A batch-specific CoA is available for every shipment and includes: appearance, pH (USP <791>), osmolality (USP <785>), endotoxin (USP <85> BET), sterility (USP <71>), particulate matter (USP <788> Method 1), raw material traceability, manufacturing date, and authorized release signatures.
