FluxMPS™ Minimum Essential Medium (MEM), High Glucose, NEAA w/o Sodium Pyruvate, Phenol Red: 1X Liquid

Contains L-Glutamine Contains Sodium Bicarbonate Contains Calcium Contains Magnesium Contains Glucose Without Phenol Red Without Sodium Pyruvate

FluxMPS™ Minimum Essential Medium (MEM), High Glucose, NEAA w/o Sodium Pyruvate, Phenol Red: 1X Liquid is a Microfluidics Suitable, ultra-filtered cell culture medium engineered for organ-on-a-chip (OoC), tissue-on-a-chip (ToC), and microphysiological system (MPS) applications. A quadruple-stage train (0.1 µm ×2 + 0.04 µm ×2) reaches a 0.04 µm final cut-off, five times finer than the 0.22 µm membranes used for conventional sterile filtration.

  • High glucose (4.5 g/L) formulation with Non-Essential Amino Acids (NEAA) — supports high-energy-demand cell types
  • Quadruple-stage filtration: 0.1µm ×2 (Prefiltration I & II) + 0.04µm ×2 (Final filtration I & II — Polish)
  • Endotoxin release specification: < 0.05 EU/mL (LAL assay, USP <85> BET)
  • pH 7.4 (USP <791>); sodium bicarbonate-buffered (2200 mg/L), requiring approximately 5–6% CO₂
  • Prepared with Ultrapure Type 1 water (18.2 MΩ·cm)
  • ISO Class 5 aseptic fill & finish; manufactured under an ISO 13485:2016 quality management system
  • Sodium pyruvate and phenol red excluded from this formulation — supplement as needed for your cell type
  • Custom formulations available — pH, glucose, salts, HEPES, nutrients on request

Why FluxMPS™

Engineered where standard media fails

Conventional 0.22µm-filtered media carry mycoplasma-sized particulates (0.2–0.3µm), subvisible debris, and inconsistent endotoxin levels that accumulate inside microchannels — corrupting biosensor readings, triggering inflammation in primary cultures, and shortening device lifetimes. FluxMPS™ is engineered to address these failure modes at the source.

filter_alt

Microchannel-safe purity

0.04µm final filter targets the sub-mycoplasma particulate range (0.2–0.3µm); USP <788> Method 1 (light obscuration) particulate compliance verified per batch.

Purity Architecture

Quadruple-stage filtration system

FluxMPS™ Minimum Essential Medium (MEM), High Glucose, NEAA w/o Sodium Pyruvate, Phenol Red: 1X Liquid is processed through a four-stage serial filtration sequence reaching 0.04µm — addressing mycoplasma-range particulates (0.2–0.3µm) and subvisible particulates that 0.22µm filtration cannot address.

  1. 1

    0.1 µm Prefiltration I

Removes large particulates and aggregates; protects downstream filter geometry and extends filter life across microchannel-scale flow paths.

  2. 2

    0.04 µm Final filtration I

Fine particulate and bacteria removal; targets the mycoplasma size range (0.2–0.3µm) — a step absent from standard 0.22µm filtration.

  3. 3

    0.1 µm Prefiltration II

Second dedicated prefilter, protecting the second 0.04µm final-filter cartridge from particulate loading and extending its service life.

  4. 4

0.04 µm Final filtration II — Polish

Ultimate polishing filter; aseptic fill performed in a validated ISO Class 5 laminar-flow workstation.

Performance vs. conventional media

Four sequential stages reaching 0.04µm deliver approximately 5× cleaner media by particulate count compared to single-pass 0.22µm filtration, with USP <788> Method 1 particulate compliance verified on every production batch.

Sterility assurance: Every batch undergoes 14-day USP <71> sterility testing. Mycoplasma risk is controlled via 0.1µm/0.04µm mycoplasma-retentive filtration (not tested per lot). No bacterial or fungal growth observed for lot release.
Grade: This product is Microfluidics Suitable, filtered to a 0.04 µm final cut-off. It is not an MPS Grade product — that designation is reserved for the 0.01 µm ultra nano-filtered line, which adds 0.02 µm and 0.01 µm stages after the 0.04 µm polish. For applications requiring the 0.01 µm cut-off, contact support@diagnocine.com.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about FluxMPS™ Minimum Essential Medium (MEM), High Glucose, NEAA w/o Sodium Pyruvate, Phenol Red: 1X Liquid and Microfluidics Suitable cell culture media.

Yes. DCP-MEMG-PR1X uses our Quadruple-stage filtration (0.1µm ×2 + 0.04µm ×2), delivering ultra-low particulate counts that help prevent microchannel clogging in OoC and MPS devices.
Standard 0.22µm filtration leaves intact mycoplasma-range particulates (0.2–0.3µm) and subvisible particulates that accumulate in microchannels. FluxMPS™ uses four sequential stages reaching 0.04µm, delivering approximately 5× lower particulate counts per USP <788> Method 1.
This formulation is manufactured without sodium pyruvate or phenol red to support applications requiring a defined, dye-free base. The 4.5 g/L (4500 mg/L) glucose level supports metabolically demanding cell types including HeLa, MCF-7, fibroblasts, and high-density suspension cultures. If your protocol requires added sodium pyruvate, phenol red, or a different glucose level, contact support@diagnocine.com for a custom formulation.
This formulation contains sodium bicarbonate (2200 mg/L), requiring approximately 5–6% CO₂ to maintain the target pH of 7.4.
Yes. FluxMPS™ Minimum Essential Medium (MEM), High Glucose, NEAA w/o Sodium Pyruvate, Phenol Red: 1X Liquid can be supplemented with FBS (5–20%), growth factors, antibiotics, or other additives per standard practice. Add supplements immediately before use. When adding serum or other protein-containing supplements, filter through a 0.2µm low-protein-binding PES or PVDF membrane to maintain sterility without stripping serum components; do not use 0.04µm filters for supplement addition.
Endotoxin is controlled per manufacturing batch rather than per unit. Every batch is tested by LAL assay per USP <85> BET (assay sensitivity 0.005 EU/mL) and must meet the release specification of < 0.05 EU/mL. Batch-specific results are documented in the CoA, available from support@diagnocine.com.
Yes. A batch-specific CoA is available for every shipment and includes: appearance, pH (USP <791>), osmolality (USP <785>), endotoxin (USP <85> BET), sterility (USP <71>), particulate matter (USP <788> Method 1), raw material traceability, manufacturing date, and authorized release signatures.
