Description
The Mapleson F Non-rebreathing Circuit (Jackson-Rees modification) is a specialized breathing circuit designed for the safe and efficient delivery of oxygen and anesthetic gases, as well as the active removal of carbon dioxide during general anesthesia. Widely used in veterinary anesthesia, this circuit is particularly well-suited for small animals due to its low resistance and minimal dead space.
The Jackson-Rees modification features a reservoir bag attached to the expiratory limb, allowing for both spontaneous and controlled ventilation. The open-ended bag can be occluded by the provider to generate positive pressure when needed, while its elasticity buffers pressure and minimizes the risk of barotrauma. The transparent bag also enables real-time observation of patient respiration, supporting safe and effective anesthesia management.
This circuit is compatible with a range of accessories and can be integrated with other breathing system components, including exhaust tubes, extension kits, low dead space kits, and gas supply hoses.
