FluxMPS™ Minimum Essential Medium (MEM) w/o Sodium Pyruvate: 2X Liquid
FluxMPS™ DCP-MEM-PN2X is a Microfluidics Suitable, ultra-filtered MEM 2X without Sodium Pyruvate and NEAA formulation on an Earle's Salts base, engineered for primary fibroblasts and related cell models used on organ-on-a-chip (OoC) and microphysiological system (MPS) platforms. It is processed through a Quadruple-stage filtration system (0.1 µm ×2 + 0.04 µm ×2) reaching a 0.04 µm final cut-off, well below the 0.22 µm industry standard. This is a 2X concentrated formulation — dilute 1:1 with sterile water, cell suspension, or supplements to reach 1X working concentration. Sodium pyruvate and NEAA are intentionally excluded so researchers can define these components independently at final 1X concentration.

Engineered where standard media fails
Conventional 0.22 µm–filtered MEM passes mycoplasma-sized organisms, subvisible particulates, and endotoxin fragments that confound sensitive cell culture applications. FluxMPS™ addresses these failure modes with a four-stage filtration train reaching a 0.04 µm final cut-off.
Microchannel-safe purity
0.04 µm final filtration and USP <788> Method 1 (light obscuration) particulate testing support safe perfusion in microfluidic chip geometries.
Defined dilution control
Supplied as a 2X concentrate on an Earle's Salts base with 2 g/L glucose and 584 mg/L L-glutamine. Sodium pyruvate and NEAA are withheld so researchers set these components independently at the final 1X working concentration.
Ultrapure-grade water
Manufactured with Type 1 water (18.2 MΩ·cm), supporting trace-metal and organic-carbon control in the finished medium.
Low background for imaging
Quadruple-stage filtration to 0.04 µm keeps particulate baseline low for confocal and biosensor-based readouts. This formulation contains phenol red; phenol-red-free variants are available on request for optical/TEER applications sensitive to indicator dye.
Complete amino acid & vitamin profile
Full MEM amino acid and B-vitamin complement, released per manufacturing batch with full CAS-level traceability.
Customization on demand
pH, concentration factor, component additions, and nutrient modifications available. Contact support@diagnocine.com.
Quadruple-stage filtration system
Four filtration passes — two dedicated prefilter/final-filter pairs — reaching a final 0.04 µm polish.
-
1
0.1 µm Prefiltration I
Large particulate, cell debris and protein aggregate removal; protects the first 0.04 µm cartridge.
-
2
0.04 µm Final filtration I
First 0.04 µm pass; retains sub-micron particulates and microaggregates that pass a 0.22 µm filter.
-
3
0.1 µm Prefiltration II
Second, dedicated prefilter protecting the second 0.04 µm cartridge.
-
4
0.04 µm Final filtration II — Polish
Ultimate polishing filter; aseptic fill & finish (ISO Class 5).
Performance vs. conventional media
The 0.04 µm final cut-off of DCP-MEM-PN2X falls well below the 0.22 µm pore size used in conventional filtered media.
