Why FluxMPS™

Engineered where standard media fails

Conventional 0.22 µm-filtered media carry mycoplasma-sized particulates (0.2–0.3 µm), subvisible debris, and batch-to-batch endotoxin variation that accumulate inside microchannels — corrupting biosensor readings and shortening device lifetimes. FluxMPS™ is built around a validated four-stage filtration train to address these failure modes.

filter_alt

Microchannel-safe purity

0.04 µm final filter retains particles to sub-mycoplasma size; USP <788> Method 1 (light obscuration) particulate compliance verified per lot.

target

Total metabolic control

Defined carbon source (3151 mg/L glucose), glutamine, and pyruvate concentrations support metabolic flux experiments and Warburg-related research.

water_drop

Ultrapure-grade water

Prepared with Type 1 water (18.2 MΩ·cm) under trace-metal and organic-carbon (TOC) control standards (ASTM D1193 / ISO 3696).

visibility

Low background for imaging

Quadruple-stage filtration keeps particulate background to a minimum, supporting confocal microscopy and biosensor-based assays. Note: this formulation contains phenol red, which absorbs in the visible range and may interfere with sensitive photometric or fluorescence-based assays — a phenol red-free variant is available on request.

Purity Architecture

Quadruple-stage filtration system

FluxMPS™ Dulbecco’s Modified Eagle Medium/ Ham's F-12 Nutrient Mixture (DMEM/F-12) (1:1) with Trace Elements & 15mM HEPES: 1X Liquid is processed through a four-stage filtration sequence reaching a 0.04 µm final cut-off, run as two dedicated prefilter + final-filter pairs for full redundancy.

  1. 1

    0.1 µm Prefiltration I

Removes large particulates, cell debris, and protein aggregates; protects the first 0.04 µm final filter cartridge.

  2. 2

    0.04 µm Final filtration I

First 0.04 µm pass; retains sub-micron particulates and microaggregates that a 0.22 µm filter would not capture.

  3. 3

    0.1 µm Prefiltration II

Second dedicated prefilter, protecting the second 0.04 µm final filter cartridge.

  4. 4

0.04 µm Final filtration II — Polish

Ultimate polishing filter ahead of aseptic fill in an ISO Class 5 laminar-flow workstation.

Performance vs. conventional media

Four sequential stages reaching a 0.04 µm final cut-off, compared with the single 0.22 µm pass used in conventional media, with USP <788> Method 1 particulate compliance verified on every lot.

Sterility assurance: Every lot undergoes 14-day USP <71> sterility testing. Mycoplasma risk is controlled by 0.1 µm mycoplasma-retentive filtration (not tested per lot); mycoplasma organisms are typically 0.2–0.3 µm in diameter.
Grade: This product is Microfluidics Suitable, filtered to a 0.04 µm final cut-off. It is not an MPS Grade product — that designation is reserved for the 0.01 µm ultra nano-filtered line, which adds 0.02 µm and 0.01 µm stages after the 0.04 µm polish. FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about FluxMPS™ Dulbecco’s Modified Eagle Medium/ Ham's F-12 Nutrient Mixture (DMEM/F-12) (1:1) with Trace Elements & 15mM HEPES: 1X Liquid and Microfluidics Suitable cell culture media.

Yes. DCP-DM12H1X uses our Quadruple-stage filtration (0.1 µm ×2 + 0.04 µm ×2), delivering ultra-low particulate counts that reduce the risk of microchannel clogging in OoC and MPS devices.
Standard 0.22 µm filtration does not retain mycoplasma (0.2–0.3 µm) or many subvisible particulates that can accumulate in microchannels. FluxMPS™ uses four sequential stages reaching a 0.04 µm final cut-off, with USP <788> Method 1 particulate compliance verified per lot.
This formulation contains 3151 mg/L (3.151 g/L) D-glucose, 365 mg/L L-glutamine, and 110 mg/L sodium pyruvate. Contact support@diagnocine.com for a custom concentration.
This formulation is HEPES-buffered (15 mM), reducing CO₂ dependency. Standard 5% CO₂ incubation remains compatible.
Yes. This medium can be supplemented with FBS, growth factors, antibiotics, or other additives per standard practice. Filter serum-containing additions through a 0.2 µm low-protein-binding PES or PVDF membrane before adding to the base medium; do not use a 0.04 µm membrane for serum, as it will strip lipoproteins and clog rapidly. Add supplements immediately before use.
Endotoxin is controlled per manufacturing batch, not per unit. Every batch is tested by LAL assay (USP <85> Bacterial Endotoxins Test; assay sensitivity 0.005 EU/mL) before release and must meet the release specification of < 0.05 EU/mL. Lot-specific results are documented in the Certificate of Analysis, available from support@diagnocine.com.
Yes. A lot-specific CoA is available for every shipment and includes: appearance, pH (USP <791>), osmolality (USP <785>), endotoxin (USP <85> BET), sterility (USP <71>), particulate matter (USP <788> Method 1), raw material traceability, manufacturing date, and authorized release signatures.
