FluxMPS™ Dulbecco's Modified Eagle Medium (DMEM), High Glucose & 25mM HEPES w/o L-Glutamine, Sodium Pyruvate, Sodium Bicarbonate, Phenol Red: 1X Liquid
FluxMPS™ DCP-DMEMH-QPBR1X is a Microfluidics Suitable, ultra-filtered DMEM High Glucose (4.5 g/L) formulation with 25 mM HEPES buffer, engineered for organ-on-a-chip (OoC), microphysiological systems (MPS), and CO₂-independent or open-top microfluidic platforms. A quadruple-stage train (0.1 µm ×2 + 0.04 µm ×2) reaches a 0.04 µm final cut-off, five times finer than the 0.22 µm membranes used for conventional sterile filtration. HEPES (25 mM, pKa 7.3 at 37°C) provides robust CO₂-independent pH buffering. Formulation: [+] HEPES, [+] Calcium, [+] Magnesium, [+] High Glucose (4500 mg/L) | [-] L-Glutamine, [-] Sodium Bicarbonate, [-] Phenol Red, [-] Sodium Pyruvate.

Engineered where standard media fails
Conventional 0.22 µm–filtered DMEM passes mycoplasma-sized particles, subvisible particulates, and endotoxin fragments that can accumulate in microfluidic channels. Standard DMEM also lacks HEPES buffering, causing pH instability whenever chips are handled outside incubators. FluxMPS™ addresses both failure modes.
Microchannel-safe purity
0.04 µm final filtration reduces particulate size below typical microchannel dimensions. USP <788> Method 1 (light obscuration) confirms the finished product meets subvisible particulate limits.
High-energy cell support
4.5 g/L glucose sustains energy-demanding cell types — primary neurons, iPSC-derived cardiomyocytes, Warburg-active cancer lines — through long-duration perfusion.
HEPES: CO₂-stable pH
25 mM HEPES (pKa 7.3 at 37°C) helps maintain pH in the 7.2–7.4 range independent of incubator CO₂ — useful for open-top chips, point-of-care devices, and atmospheric incubation.
Low background for imaging
Low particulate baseline supports high-contrast imaging; the phenol red–free formulation avoids background absorbance in colorimetric assays. Suited to confocal microscopy and optical biosensor platforms on chip.
Rich, stable nutrient profile
30 ingredients verified per batch; 4× BME amino acid/vitamin concentrations; micro-batch production with full traceability.
Customization on demand
pH, glucose, HEPES concentration, salts, and nutrients adjustable. Contact support@diagnocine.com.
Quadruple-stage filtration system
Four serial filtration stages — two dedicated 0.1 µm/0.04 µm prefilter-and-final-filter pairs in series — reaching a final 0.04 µm polish, delivering low-particulate purity for microfluidic channel applications.
-
1
0.1 µm Prefiltration I
Removes large aggregates, cell debris, and mycoplasma-sized particles (0.2–0.3 µm) via 0.1 µm mycoplasma-retentive filtration (not tested per lot); protects the first 0.04 µm cartridge.
-
2
0.04 µm Final filtration I
First 0.04 µm pass; retains sub-micron particulates and microaggregates that a standard 0.22 µm filter would not capture.
-
3
0.1 µm Prefiltration II
Second dedicated 0.1 µm mycoplasma-retentive prefilter, protecting the second 0.04 µm cartridge.
-
4
0.04 µm Final filtration II — Polish
Ultimate polishing filter; ISO Class 5 aseptic fill & finish.

Designed for next-generation cell models
FluxMPS™ DCP-DMEMH-QPBR1X combines high-glucose energy support with HEPES pH stability — supporting platforms from open-top microfluidic chips and CO₂-free bioreactors to multi-organ body-on-a-chip systems.
Automated Bioreactors & Robotics
HEPES buffering removes CO₂ dependency during automated bioreactor perfusion. An optional 0.01 µm (10 nm) MPS Grade ultra nano-filtered variant of this formulation is available on request for robotic liquid handlers where trace particulates cause valve failure.
- Total Particulate Exclusion: the 0.01 µm MPS Grade variant removes nanoparticulate aggregates from bioreactor media lines
- pH-Stable Automated Delivery: HEPES maintains pH during robotic media exchanges without CO₂ re-equilibration delays
- Extended Perfusion Stability: consistent high-glucose delivery with stable pH over weeks-long culture
Inquiry Required: Contact support@diagnocine.com for the 0.01 µm MPS Grade variant.
Open-Top & CO₂-Free Chips
HEPES buffering enables pH-stable culture in open-top microfluidic devices, atmospheric incubators, and multi-compartment chips with heterogeneous CO₂ environments.
Primary Neurons & Brain-on-Chip
High glucose (4.5 g/L) plus HEPES stability supports primary neurons and iPSC-neuronal networks in long-duration microfluidic perfusion without pH drift.
Cardiomyocyte & Heart-on-Chip
High-glucose DMEM plus HEPES is a common base for iPSC-CM maturation and heart-on-chip functional assays requiring stable pH and high energy substrate.
Warburg Effect & Cancer Models
High glucose supports aerobic glycolysis in cancer lines; HEPES helps stabilize pH during rapid glucose-consumption spikes in Warburg-active tumor models.
Metabolic Flux Analysis
Defined high-glucose formulation for ¹³C isotope tracing and Seahorse XF assays; HEPES allows sampling outside incubators without pH artefacts.
Microscopy & Optical Sensing
HEPES-stabilized pH during imaging sessions; the phenol red–free formulation avoids background absorbance for colorimetric and fluorescence-based readouts.
